Driving around today, as I pulled into the store the truck didn't sound right. Was headed over to another members house, when I got there the truck started really sounding rough, at first it sounded like injectors but as we listened it sounds like a bad TC. It's a DPC tc with almost no mileage on it so I didn't figure it would be trashed with in this amount of time. Doesn't always make the noise, only sometimes, I can't make it make the noise it only does it when it wants. I can get on it hard (trying to finish off whatever is screwed up) and it won't do it at all after it.

These were all video's taken while it was acting up. Tc was replaced when I swapped motor. It was replaced because stock one was starting to shudder at 45 when it locked, this one still had a slight shudder at 45 but i figured with the recent ipr and oil issues it had that these were what caused it. Dumped out tc fluid into clean container and there were NO metal shavings, all the trans fluid that came out with the pan drop looked very fresh too, no metal shavings there either. You can also see that the belt tensioner reacts when the noise is made, pulled the belt off and it still makes the noise. Swapped idms as it has had a high side open code and failed #2 on the cct. Passed all on cct, stilled had high side code and passed buzz test today when we checked everything out.

Also looked at the flexplate the best we could with the trans still in, looks to be in good shape, didn't see any cracks or anything. Doesn't mean it is truly in good shape tho.

only one way to find out if the flexplate is trashed or not... does the noise come and go when your driving down the road or just sitting in park or in gear with foot on break? or just anytime?

I have had the worst luck with this motor.... about to just DD the gfs dodge and pull it back out and fix all the stupid little things I've found. Not to mention we found the front cover was cracked at the hpop reservoir, but that has a temp fix for now. Just trying to decide if this will be a good reason to snatch the motor out again and deal with the stupid stuff now. Kind of looking good to fix the flexplate and go get me a dmax.

Unless the converter bolts backed themselves out in a month, theyre tight, and the uvch was ohmed upon motor install same time as convertor. Of course it could be bad, but im leaning towards the injector itself... The code appeared from a buzz test

Tho I guess it won't be fun to have to drop $5k on a trans for a dmax to push the power I do now...

I think the motor is just coming back out, fix the 2 small leaks it has swap the front cover. I also figure I can do this almost as quickly as just pulling the trans to see whats fubared. It is really sounding like flex plate or TC so either way I have to get to them.

I'll try to get another video today

I didn't see this to answer, it comes and goes in park or in gear with my foot on the brake sometimes. Never makes the noise while driving.

Did the front cover crack from using the wrong hpop gasket? And I can't tell from the videos but its easy to see the cracks in the plate when you seperate the trans from the engine.
