Haha i was hoping someone else watches that show.


I couldnt get my 5r to shift. it worked good but not great. last year it seemed worse. wouldnt come out of first gear lol and it would miss shifts. I am done with electronics. Full manual valvebody for me. i was also having problems keeping the pump bushing from welding itself to the converter and going through converters pretty fast. This trans build was sponsored by Total Performance Diesel.

Matt, who's 5R110 were you runninig that you were having so many issues. Don't hear Ellerton having issue with his NADP or really anyone having issues with their NADP 5R110 that are running one. Seems to be the best built 5R110 out there.

It was an nadp. So basically a suncoast with a different name on it haha. Shawn doesnt have problems but I have been since day one. Im tired of driving for two days to get to a race and have the truck not shift. This trans will break your neck when i grab the next gear. No more praying it shifts and clearing codes everypass.

what you using for a adpater plate?
I got the plate from suncoast. Havent bolted it up yet. I called around for months trying to get one last year but everyone just asked why I would wanna do that lol. I can shoot you some pics if you want.

Oh and no underhood pics yet haha. Those might not get posted up. It turned out nice though. I'm happy with it.

Very cool. Whats retail on an adapter plate to bolt one of these up? And what is all needed for the swap?

I can't remember what the cost was. There is alot more to a kit but thats why it hasn't really been done yet. I'm tearing down the transfer case tonight if I get time. Hopefully i get time to work on it so I can get my drivelines made.

Nice to see something else being used for a transmission.
I really dont like all the combining of 2 gears to make one. (1 gear + overdrive, or whatever.)

I think going this route just makes it easier to drive. (Less shifting)

Post up what ya can...looking forward to it.

Any chance you can pull an rpm signal and use an rpm switch for the lockup, and likewise, a vehicle speed sensor signal into a switch to trigger the overdrive?

Pcs controllers are the easiest things to use they shift at wot by rpm and control lockup by mph
