Zf6 to 4r100 swap?

Before anyone asks, its what the customer wants lol
Has anyone ever swapped from a manual to a 4r100 in a 7.3 truck? Can I just change the trans harness and PCM and be good to go? I have all of the other parts needed just curious about any wiring issues before I jump into this job, truck is a 450 if that makes any difference, thanks for any info

Ditch the harness and PCM idea. Go with a stand alone controller like PCS.

What year truck? No chance on just swapping the harness's on 02-03 trucks.

The PCS idea would be the best.

There are other wiring changes on the auto underhood harness 99-01 also, but more doable on those.

Truck is a 2000, I have plenty of parts trucks if I need anything, just wanting to know if I can swap the trans harness and PCM or if the rest of the harness is dofferent

underhood harness is different. 3 plugs iirc on the innerfender vs 4.

If you have the parts trucks you should be able to get it to work with out pulling the dash. The harness for the auto shifter is inside under the column pieces.

So I will probably have to change all of the harness under the hood? That may end up being more than I really want to get into, I need to look it over good and see for sure it sounds like

Just checked them out, they have a different amount of plugs like you said, will I have to change everything inside the cab also?

Well against my better judgment I went ahead with this project, its been a real headache so far but the mechanical part is done (transmission is installed) and some how I lucked out and found a driveshaft the correct length! Just down to pulling the dash and changing that wiring now and if all goes well it will be running soon
