Well, went to the dyno Friday. There's either something wrong with my truck or something wrong with that dyno, I'm leaning toward my truck though. It's a Mustang dyno so I expected it to read a little low. The first time I ran it a couple weeks ago with the stock turbo and TSD tune it did 342hp which was even a little lower than I expected but I just wanted a baseline number to see what my future mods would do. The mods on that run were AFE intake, Absolute ported manifold, Strictly Diesel regulated return, 4" straight pipe, and the TSD tune.

The only changes for the runs this past Friday were the Fleece billet wheeled Powermax and No Limit pipes. With the same tune and everything else the same also, it did 343hp.

I put Innovative's XTreme Race tune in and that brought it to 351hp.

The only difference with the turbo is that the power didn't drop off like the stocker did, it just kept pulling near peak.

I used my CTS to run a 1/4 mile test and it said 14.7 @ 92mph. I don't know how accurate those are but at 7200lbs with me in it, it should definitely be a good bit faster and quicker than that with my mods.

So I need to figure out what's going on with my truck apparently. I can't find any boost leaks, even changed all my boots and put the No Limit intercooler piping on to be sure. No signs or smell of soot anywhere. Power balance on the truck is fine.

FICM voltage is good also according to the CTS.

I will say that after I studded the truck my EOT/ECT delta went up a good bit. Used to be about a 12* or so difference before, now it's about 25* difference. I changed the oil cooler again and still no change. I'm waiting on a coolant filter kit from Steve with some different routing of the coolant lines to see if that brings them back down. Coolant currently runs from the oil cooler to the reservoir, like most everyone else's, so I doubt that's going to be the issue though.

Any ideas of anything I can check?

The truck runs fine, no misses or weird sounds or anything, it's just down on power apparently.

Take it to the track Danny and see what kind of mph you pull, that'll be your true test

your sure you don't have one of the later flashes that reduces power once the delta between EOT and ECT is grater than 15 *

However I also thought that set a CEL or at least a code however

That is sounding a lot like my truck, only I gotta have quite a bit more weight with my crew cab long bed.

I know you have a regulated return but what is the fuel pump? Mine drops pressure pretty hard before it shifts into OD. I run 14.7@91 and dyno'd 397 last time on a dynojet.

My ECT runs around 175-180 and oil stays right around 190.

I'm thinking that the truck has a plugged cooler, even though it may be new. Your guys thoughts?

I sent Danny a standard coolant reroute kit with his manifold, and I think we are gonna try stepping the line up to 3/4" to see if it effects deltas. Waiting on my machinist to finish the coolant filter head so I can get it shipped to him.

I've never heard of that particular flash, Josh. Curious if that is the issue

175-180 sounds like T-stat time

That's what I have been thinking, just no time to mess with it lately. Oil temp stays good so I am not too worried.

That's what I am thinking Steve, cooler should help. I know my truck drives fine but mid range I can watch pressure drop as low as 30psi

the t stat is a quick job

after you drain 1 and 1/2 gallons of coolant

that flash as far as I know was one of the latest

I just missed it but I was at the dealer when I learned of it

We put a new cooler in when we did the studs. When I saw the delta we put in another new cooler along with a temp coolant filter and there was zero change so I don't think it's the cooler.

Is there anything I could've put back together wrong when I did the studs?

My buddy had his truck reflashed like 6 months ago tops when he had the edge on his that the truck came with taken off. A whole nother story, but had high deltas before and since his reflash he's having issues with the wrench light coming on in cruise control. From what I've seen it's something in the latest flash like stated before.

Interesting. Well my first order of business is to get my delta back to where it's supposed to be since that would be the root of the problem and needs to be corrected in any event.

Any ideas on what else could be causing it?

I remember seeing bad new oil coolers a few times. That would suck, I don't see what else could cause so much delta other than bad sensors. Does it read the same ECT and EOT after sitting overnight?

the wrench light doesn't come on for tranny issues the OD light flashes as far as I remember

He should probably pull the codes with a good reader
