I remember seeing bad new oil coolers a few times. That would suck, I don't see what else could cause so much delta other than bad sensors. Does it read the same ECT and EOT after sitting overnight?

Yup, always within one or two degrees.

I ran the CTS again for codes and one popped up this time- P0267 (injector circuit low, cylinder 3). I'm going to clear it and see if it pops up again. It showed that one before a while back but went away after I cleared it and didn't come back. I'm wondering if I have an intermittent problem of some sort. That would account for the low power but I still need to see what's going on with my delta.

Somebody needs to open a good diesel shop around here. LOL

Cleared the code and drove around for about an hour then ran it again. The P0267 didn't come on again, but a P0341 (camshaft position sensor circuit performance, bank 1/1 sensor) popped up now.

A little bit of reading tells me it could be the sensor itself or, for '03 to '04 in particular, the harness at the sensor.

What about the water pump danny? Could that possibly be causing issues? Iirc they have a plastic impellar and that could be broken causing less than ideal ect which pushes up the deltas.

I had the same problem with my truck after doing studs and a brand new OEM oil cooler, turned out to be 2 issues, the new cooler was crap right out of the box and the radiator was plugged up, new water pump only dropped the deltas by a couple of degrees.
