Well i thought i hurt the motor last week...turned out i just blew an up pipe apart..when i thought i hurt it i was dead set on starting my build...well that plan isnt changing...its on ***kers

Gonna rip the motor apart go .020 over with ford pistons, send em down to Doug to get machined and hard coated. Going with stock rods, I kept tossing around the idea of Carrillos, but with the abuse i see these stock rods taking, its not worth it, the money can be used in other areas.

Full head work, oversized valves, hardened seats, upgraded valvetrain, a set of H-11's, and possibly a cam. Gonna throw the new intake manifold in to equalize the flow, Dual fuelers being supplied by an Airdog 165 with the fuel block go straight to the HPFP, a set of 110s, 6.0 manifolds with a custom set of up pipes and for turbos im looing at a 66 and an 88 compound set up with the 88 in the fender well

If you guys can think of anything im missing, or can throw in any input let me know

Just sell it and get a ranger.

Looks like its going to be fun. I was talking to glenn last night about this build a little. So itll be cool to see how it goes, and maybe build my other block at the same time.

Glenn is goin a few routes on turbos and talkin to see what a few other people would do on this motor...and ill most likely go the route that they think would be best...im guessing somewhere around the 66/88 set up but im always willing to go other routes

im shooting for 700... and i think i have a moutain to climb ahead....

IM wondering how far 110s are going to carry everyone... since we are all running them... i personally thing we need more injector for 800 on fuel but i might be wrong.

go smaller on the secondary, you will thank me 63 or 64mm is my vote

will that hurt top end power or would gating around it basically make that not a problem at all

ED will set you up with a great set of turbo's.

ill give ED a call and see what they say

i try MikeLOL...and thanks for the ideas on the phone tonight, made my decision of rods a lot easierLOL i always second guess myself

and let me know on the other stuff when you get a chance

I can't wait to have the 6.4 injection system in my engine. Plain and simple. Then I can be a real boy

**on edit- Josh, when you were talking about a Glenn and turbo's I just assumed you were already talking with ED. my bad. Truth be told, I would build my own set and pick Dustin's brain like crazy. He's tried more turbo setups then anybody and has a good idea what works and what doesn't. Not saying ED isn't worth a call but I doubt Glenn has done anything 6.4 thus far. Dude still knows turbos though

I plan on hitting that # or getting damn close to it with 85's.

Shouldn't

Food for thought I run the same gate and same turbine wheel as most high/max powers and my gate is set to never open... because I don't need it....dodge and duramax guys don't gate between stages either ...

If the exhaust wheel on the atmosphere turbo is big enough back pressure shoudlnt be an issue. Also most cumins trucks run 64/80s with no gate so a small gate with a 64/88 or 62/88 should be fine.

i agree. i know it's apples to oranges but when a cummins can do 9xxhp with a 62 secondary and a big primary and get mid to high 20s fuel mileage, im sure a 6.4 can do it with CR injection and a little more displacement. gate around it, let the primary come on and do work.

ok awesome sounds good, how big of an exhaust housing would you go with...my turbo knowledge is limited, and would you do a divided or open housing?
