Good. Your not supposed to be able to move the vgt arm while running. Our issue was that we could move the arm with the truck running. Pretty much rules out your vgt actuator being bad.

I'll let these more experience guys help out some more. I was trying to help from my experience working on the engine but I feel this is over my head. My best suggestion is to go through your engine very methodically and look for any plugs or connections that may not be plugged in all the way, at all, or securely. If you were pushing to get it done, and I understand why you were, there's a good chance they missed something. I know we missed one plug each of 2 times we took the cab off.

Thanks. I'm always learning. I'm sure ill get it figured out. I return back to work Sunday and will give the truck to the shop Monday if not fixed. I've done a lot of the trouble shooting for them and they should be able to narrow down diagnostics with their snap on reader. Surely that will read the sensors that are communicating properly and which are not.

Note this. When I removed the Fuel rail sensor. Inside appeared to be dark. Like oil mixed with diesel. Idk if that's good or bad. My thoughts were that common rail was clean diesel. My filers look clean. Still white. So any ideas. If given something was wrong it would be post filter correct. Say injection pump bleeding over. Idk much about my HPFP that's why I ask.

mixing fluid would pressurize the coolant or add diesel to your oil , it would still make boost. im thinking map sensor at this point, or some sensor. too bad there isnt a code pointing towards it !!

Well hell. I have no low boost. Kinda like a dead VGT. Everything else seems to be up to par. As far as I can tell at least. Still researching

When mine froze up it took forever to build boost because the vgt was being held in the open position since the sensor was "seeing" high ebp. Just something to consider.

Sct And edge cts

Might get more codes with an actual reader.

That's why I was wondering if he could watch vgt%.

Check to make sure the ebp sensor is even plugged in and not defaulting to the highest.

yeah that would be a big help. I know when you shut off the truck the vgt goes to full open. I can't remember if the arm goes towards the cab or towards the radiator but I think its towards the cab. So that can be one way to see if its in the open position. Just look at the arm when its running and then shut it off and see if it changed positions.
