Oh, and I forgot to mention max boost - I can't tell you what it is because both the old turbine and the new turbine will peg my 30 psi boost gauge. I don't ever "need" over about 25 psi which I hit fairly regularly when towing so I set the wastegate to start opening around 30 psi.

Did this ever happen? I pulled the trigger on this turbine and have either a .84 (currently on) or 1.0 that I could put back on it. I am thinking the .84 just because of the way I use the truck coupled with my manual transmission but I open to use the 1.0 as well.

Very similar parts and experience as you except when I sent my 160/30's back to Nate they said they were perfectly fine. At the time Matt said he was more experienced tuning 80% nozzles so they swapped me for 160/80's with basically no change in cold smoke. Hard starting is not an issue for me...

Yep, that's exactly what mine looks like just out of one exhaust pipe. At least until the oil temp comes up. I switched to Rotella 10-30 and got easier starts, same smoke but goes away faster. Haven't had much time to do more diagnostics, been working on my classic Buick over the winter. :)
