Completely off topic:
Some years back Jody expressed interest in tuning tdi diesels.
I am picking up a 2014 Chevy Cruze diesel for my wife. It's on order now. Does Jody have any plans to offer tuning for this platform in the future?
Thanks,
Sun
That's interesting to me since I gained so much when I doubled up my airfilters. I gained like 6 psi boost! Smoke was notably reduced. Response was a lot better.
Was your boost and smoke not limited by your airfilter flow (as it was on my set up) but instead by a maxed out turbo that likely had...
The 6637 is a paper (read higher efficiency) filter so it is more restrictive than cotton gauze.
Modified (hell even darn near stock) these engines need all of the unrestricted air flow that they can get. As far as I'm concerned 2 filters is the only way to accomplish that.
I wedged some huge...
Thanks for the info. That was exactly what I needed.
I was hoping I could just yank my intake off and use an air tool to swap out one compressor wheel for another wheel and have a marked improvement in performance. I've worked on 7.3s enough for 2 lifetimes and spent enough $ on mods to buy a...
Nope, my truck already kills. No need to change anything cause there is far from anything wrong w/ it. It already murders the tires constantly.
If I spent big money on it (which I won't) it would get compounds.
If there was am improved compressor wheel I could just install and make more boost...
Programming really is dialed, and the truck drives freakin' fantastic. It accelerates like a banshee even from a light roll on at low RPM even at highway speeds.
I just want more accleration and ZERO smoke. Right now I get a haze.
Matt made it downshift at pretty light throttle settings which...
It really isn't bad at all it's just not 100% ideal. My truck is a bit of a lightweight (stock it weighed 6440#) but even if I add 2K of bed payload the turbo response becomes absolutely perfect.
Really, the entire rig is set up very well for towing good heavy loads, which isn't something I...
No sir, I'm being completely serious.
I have a huge T6 housing type turbo and I have the tightest turbine housing available on it right now. At 70mph on flat ground I get less than 5#psi and it's not enough for my usually lightly loaded conditions.
I feel that my mpg would actually improve if...
I didn't read the entire thread but I'll say years ago I tried multiple configurations and they all caused oil leaks. I'm vented to the atmosphere now and it's fine for me.
