I would check the CPS again. I had an early 2000 that would die randomly when you stepped on the brake pedal. It eventually started doing it ever time you hit the brakes. Slapped a new CPS on it and never did it again.

Ya. You're not going to notice a width difference on an 08. It's hardly noticeable on the 99-04 trucks.

I don't think it will hurt anything to run it unplugged. It'll just run on a default pressure, won't run to full potential, but its better than it dying every couple miles.
