I think your best bet would be to grab a harness from a base model xl truck as it would have the least options. So les wiring. Basically dash an motor and ignition. The heat an signals you could leave out.

I crawled all over the 7.3 S10 at TS. There's not much needed. A scangauge can monitor the vitals and it's not going to need any input from the dash cluster.

Its way too early to commit to a grudge match for me. LOL We will see how 2013 goes.
