Oil pump gear. Certain trucks are known to break them over and over again at certain HP levels.

Elite is making a tool steel gear for this very reason.

I'd tap in an oil pressure gauge with a hobbs switch so if it breaks and you loose oil pressure the engine will shut itself off and save the motor. Better safe than sorry. That's what i'll be doing when it gets compounds.
The gear is pretty stout. I don't really see it breaking unless something goes through the gears

Big R has broken one....The Canuck with the big white 6.7 who has blown up like 10 motors blew 1 or 2....pretty sure the MPD guys had one or more break ? Not positive on that but fairly certain

Mike never broke one.

I'm pretty sure all the other people that have broke them have fluidampers.

It's definitely not a power level issue. And I was the first one to get the rev limiter raised on the 6.7 to be able to run 6k rpm still never had an issue.

I figured I would start a thread on my build.

I first built a 61 VGT / 75 atmo compound setup and made 605hp. I've now stripped the motor and have decided to do a full build. Also bore the block .020 over.

I should start receiving parts next week. So far I've ordered the following.

Pte 68/70 gen2
Arp main studs
Chromoly pushrods
Valve springs
Stage 2 cam
R&r rods
Billet aluminum Pistons
Zero gap rings
H13 wrist pins
New OEM valves
New OEM gaskets and bearings

More to come:
Pte pro mod 102
Aeromotive fuel pumps
Big water to air intercooler
100 percent over injectors
Lots and lots of nitrous
Some trans parts
Some small secret things
...... ******** the glow plugs.

I see you listed Billet Pistons in your list, may I ask where did you get those and how much???

Thanks!!!!

If the pistons from Mike are the same dimensions I received they still need matching for aftermarket rods. They didn't clearance right. Just an fyi

Yep I clearanced the rods and rebalanced the assembly. That being said the file to fit rings suck too.

I left the rods how they come and machined the bottom of the pistons in a cnc

Saw this on ig I was hoping you had a build thread. This reminds me a little bit of Ryan Anderson's 6.4; huge power, huge truck.. It eats parts up pretty good but damn is it entertaining to watch it do its thing.
