195k?!? Did you read his replies to the questions?
Don`t be sorry, I did not misplace any 0`s on my starting price. If you have ever built a full custom car you would know why the price is listed for what it is. Shop rates, Hours spent on R&D, custom machined parts, aftermarket frame not to mention all the aftermarket parts to make this car what it is. All of it adds up. You could not even touch the motor alone in this car for 19,500. So the next time YOU build a custom diesel powered hotrod, You may ask any price you want. I will not send a smarty pants email to you. I have other projects i would like to move a little faster on and more cash would help. I do not need to sell this car, but if i did, this is what i want. You know the old saying if you have to ask, well... Thanks for looking.

It doesn't matter what you put into a car, you won't make your money back! I have $40k in my VW and I could get maybe get $10-15k. My dad has $70k in his Bel-Air, he could only pull 30k tops...

And I had $77,600 into a '32 ford that I sold for $108,000. That guy had a hell of a buy. There was over $200K in the build and I was at the right place at the right time to buy it and make some money,,, after a few changes. Has nothing to do with brains vs. money. It's only as valuable as what someone is willing to pay.

I would pay 200k. Noone else has one, and its a multidementional vehicel, not just a show queen or drag car, but you can drive it whenever you want and still have a passenger too. I think the car is worth that much. There is always someone out there that will buy anything at any price, its a matter of time for them two in the equation to find each other.

It would be awesome to see it on the Barrett Jackson Auction.

For the engine and transmission. Have you REALLY looked at the pictures? I agree that the asking price is high, but the level of craftsmanship in the car is awesome.

It's funny. I know there are multiple rigs on here with nearly 100K invested. But somehow THIS car isn't worth that?

Its worth whatever it sells for. That car is sick. I hate the " I hate rich people because they are rich" crowd. If you don't have money, you have the pleasure of having posters of a car like this in your shop. If you have money you can have this car in your shop. Either way, it's cool.

I need to try and get my father in law interested in this. . .he must "need"this car LOL

Wait, but the guy before you sunk $200k into it?

I don't know about a masterpiece like this, but my formula for modified rigs is this:

Add up the value of all the parts you bought. . .divide by two.

Add up what you paid to have all those parts bolted on. . .ignore that number 'cause labor isn't worth a dime.

Find out what guys are asking for stock versions of what you have. . .subtract 20 ish percent.

Add that to your parts total. Ask that and hope to get anywhere close or meet a buyer with lots of money. . .

Yeah, that didnt read too clearly to me either.

I think somebody loose with their money would have to buy this.

People! Stop your internal dialogue! Its a duramax motor shoved into a car that was common as hell. Those same cars are worth the most when in original condition. Lemme get this straight, a really nice original SS that was never restored and has low miles can fetch above $50k. Im sure the market goes higher but its been affected too by a slow economy also.

To put this into perspective a 65 Chevy Biscayne with custom everything...a 1200hp twinned gasser and custom 24" wheels. Did I mention EVERYTHING was custom inside and out? The guy had 125k into it. It looked a ***k of a lot nicer than that Chevelle and he got a best offer of 80k. He didnt sell it but I dont expect them to get that much for a more common car with one thing that most hot rodders probably want....A DIESEL...I bet some could look past the fuel type given the performance of the setup. Its a specialized build with an overestimated price tag.

A new King Ranch F450 goes for 60K plus... You guys are nuts...

Explain how? I would bet there are waaaaay more people that want that king ranch than the chevelle.

If you think I have no interest in that Chevelle, thats not it. Im not gonna lose sight of reality over it either.

To many classic car collectors that car is ruined. Its a common car that was devalued once the frame got tossed out. A diesel truck drivetrain in a common musclecar. Yeah, 200k sounds about right.

Its cool but not that cool....
