I already have a trail vehicle, henceforth I do not care about the hydrophobic efficiency of my air filter homie. I our factory filter was not hydrophobic so what the hell does it matter? I drive my truck on the highway not under water. It's behind the battery box anyhow.

yeah cuz no rain what so ever gets under the hood ;f a 7.3... the stock air box was INCLOSED and water couldnt get to it unless you swamped it... and your the one who spouted off with how much you make and how much more money you make in a 3 day time frame.

just cuz someone spouts off with other chit doesnt mean you need to come back spewing stupid chit from your fingers.... ignore them and as a newb to the site you will last longer around here...

live life full throttle

You already had a mod post. I'd drop this and apologize. This community has some very high hp and well built trucks that don't put up with BS. A 10k mod is worthless. It may help some by lying to the sensor but there is NO way that it out performs a TS or any other chip unless someone who had no idea what they were doing.

Bad12 you and Lincoln jumped in on this and put your 2 cents in on something that wasn't directed toward you... You apologize and drop it.

To the op, listen to these guys. The mentality of cheap mods is wonderful because you want to save money, but soldering in a resistor basically throws all your maps off in the pcm. This can cause problems that you will spend ages chasing down and not be able to pin down because you aren't allowing the programming of the truck to work as intended. Basically its akin to using a back hoe to dig trenches for a small sprinkler system. Sure you're moving earth, but you're moving way to much and not as efficiently as if you used a tool actually designed for the job, such as a trencher.

Oh and as for hydrophobic air filter, you're basically saying you don't care if a small amount of water costs you an engine vs taking care to buy the best filter. Feel free to keep your ase cert, I'll stick to my no formal training, self taught, ability. Let me know when ase teaches you enough to comfortably write programs for your truck that put a 10k resistor "mod" to shame.

First decent reply I've heard all day, I said I had a cai but failed to mention that I had measurements to avoid water intrusion. I joined the group to get info but everyone wants to bash a newcomer so I was just giving them something to bash on. Never thought people would be this way to a new member but I reckon it's just the way some people are.

OP...just stop. To answer you question somewhat. Ditch all the "mods" that you have done this far and get a custom tuned chip from one of the vendors here. There is a reason why those mods cause slip and engine lights. Custom tunes change the way the whole truck runs. Shift points and line pressures are adjusted to account for the different fueling strategies. Its done more safely and efficiently then those other mods. Look at what the higher HP trucks have. You won't see a resistor or throttle mod.

Lastly...it gets old when someone starts a thread that resembles this one. Some of these guys in here have PROVEN setups that are more than willing to share their knowledge. I'm not sure where you did your research but this site should be one of your only resources to build whatever your goal is.

Nice to see a little class in a reply. Thank you for the info and I'll take it into consideration. Felt like I was being booted out before I ever joined earlier. Thanks calabash.

I can apologize for some of the attitude, but I'd like to hear a few myself. We're all men and can't help but buck back when we're ridden hard. Sorry if I stepped on some toes.... Just didn't like mine being stomped on. The only questionable mod I did was the resistor mod on the icp. As far as advancing the tps I see no harm in reducing the throttle response and getting rid of dead pedal. I did it with my snap on solus to view live data and not by ear. And I spoke with a ford diesel master tech before adjusting it.

The plugs on the front of the driver cyl head and rear of the pass cyl head were removed and the holes drilled to 1/4 id, the fpr spring replaced, and I removed the plunger from the fuel filter inlet to get more flow. The plunger is only there to stop the engine from being ran without a filter.

I joined the Marines after 9. 11 and worked law enforcement for a good while. Can't help running into trouble when it pops up. Just can't stand running away from it. Call me foolish but I like the rush.

What drawbacks do you see as far as having a 15k resistor in the icp vs an edge icp module. What does the edge module do that I'm not. All it has is a flip switch
