    Transmission Service

No Im not believing internet urban legends Im going from experience. But Im not going to argue with you unless directly responded to. I dont have transmission problems personally but I have seen the flush machines ruin cars and trucks from being flushed by them. Also Im at 330,000 miles on the...

    Detroit TrueTrac rear diff traction

Reading the article I found it looks like a truetrac wont engage if you start out with a wheel in the air aka no traction at all. So I could see a detroit locker being more ideal for full on off roading. The article and other places Ive read said it wasnt hard to get the truetrac to engage...

    Detroit TrueTrac rear diff traction

Well since he was thanking me for the link I posted I guess you not needing thanks is ok :) Still glad he liked the info. That site has an excellent break down on the pros and cons of each unit. Kind of cool finding out the detroit locker was originally used to handle the connection between...

    Weird steering issue?

I think I read in a few other threads that swamps is carrying them. I bought mine straight from the company but swamps might be able to get you a better price. Worth checking at least.

    Mobil 1 5W40 users.

I havent tried the mobile 1 oil in my 2002 7.3 but I do run the valvoline full synthetic and Ive used rotella dino oil and I tried rotella t6 full synthetic when I couldnt get the valvoline for one oil change. My truck runs night and day different with the synthetic over dino oil. Smoother...

    Weird steering issue?

Sounds almost like what my truck was doing when the steering box was bad. But it was pretty constant about doing it. Basically where ever you turn the wheel it stayed. So if I had it turned x amount to go around a curve it stayed turned that much after the curve ended and I had to turn the wheel...

Red Head Steering Gear.. My Thoughts

I tightened mine when I bought the truck. I had to turned the screw over 3 full turns, most Ive ever had to do on a box before too and it helped take the slop out but it needed a bit more but I was unwilling to turn it more than that. The reason I wouldnt go more than that is Ive always used to...

    Retro Solutions issues

Hate you had a bad time with them and I really believe in to each their own so if you hate hids thats fine with me. The one thing you mentioned was the blinding everyone and thats actually the one thing I dont have a problem with on the hids Ive got. The cut off line is so pronounced on the...

    Transmission Service

The longer its been since it was changed the more stuff will get broke lose with the flush process. So its especially bad if its gone say 100k+ miles and then gets flushed. Not to mention your getting crud back in there from the last person that had their trans "flushed" on most flushing rigs.

    AC delete

It spins all the time anyways so its not going to effect anything. No different than just not using your ac when it was working.

    Transmission Service

Transmission flush machines are evil. Well dark lord of the sith evil to be more accurate :) Changing the fluid and filter is good. But flushing is bad. If your going to service your trans at all then changing fluid and filter every 75k to 100k miles is ideal. If your not going to do service...

    Retro Solutions issues

If the bulb dims its normally the bulb itself but sometimes it can be bad ballast. Did you try changing the bulb from one side to the other to see if it was the bulb or the ballast? I personally have had the absolute oposite luck compared to stock. Silverstars burn out on me way to often. I...

    Retro Solutions issues

Is this the retro kit? No special harness needed since the hids dont use ANY power from the factory harness amp wise. The hids get their power straight from wires you attach to the battery itself. The harness plugs aka where the factory headlights hook up are plugged to the hids but thats just...

    AC delete

You can unplug the ac stuff no problem but the compressor isnt going to come on without freon in the system so just ignore it being broke if you dont want to fix it. That way if you decide later you want it fixed its a simple fix or if you go to the sell your truck its worth more with a/c than...

    Retro Solutions issues

Ive had my retro solution hids for 5 years now and they still work flawlessly. As for the "cant have them going out at 65mph bit" the odds on that happening are not anymore likely on a retro kit than your factory headlights both going out at the same time since if installed correctly they are...

    Quick AEginuity question

If you have injectors not firing cold and it smooths out warmed up its easy to figure out if its the injectors. Plug the block heater in. If it runs fine the next morning the injectors are shot. Trust me, I spent a few years with mine tethered before replacing mine :) My avatar used to be a...
