    constant light smoke

the idle definitely sounds like it has a miss. also...the blowby... remember you have a crankcase breather on the otttthhhher valve cover... so unless you capped that..your video is showing exactly 1/2 of your actual blowby. I've seen worse, but the idle isn't right..

    constant light smoke

I'd run a compression test before you do anything else.

    Injector, right?

chances are that the nozzle will need to be replaced... 9 out of 10 injector installations gone wrong like this will result in the nozzle orifices being 'clogged' from the fuel burning on outside of the injector...carbon actually gets into the orifices and can negatively affect the needle seal...

Coolant in Cylinder - Built Engine

were the head studs torqued after initial start up? (while engine was hot?)

Common rail conversion using duramax parts

We've surpassed annnything (posted and lost) from the blog... These heads will make the most of HEUI injection system, as well as benefit our CR conversion engines. (need to get this and other videos on our website...) but for those on Facebook...

an effing VIDEO would be nice... ;)

    Is it time for injectors?

have Eric raise allllll of your shift points...and move your downshifts UP (so it'll downshift with less pedal input)...have him do the same in the converter maps. adding fuel/injectors is going to amplify your issue UNLESS you get your shifting dialed in..you need to get gears...OR have your...

    7.3 Engine Build Disaster

my guess is that the rods were installed backwards. ie, on the big end of each con rod...their is a large & small chamfer. the large chamfer on each rod has to face the counterweight on the crank...(small chamfers face each other). it's a nuance commonly overlooked by engine builders...

    Major 7.3 Headscratcher

I'd like to see/hear a video with decent sound quality if possible.

    Water/meth injection question

depends on volume of water injected... any system that moves enough water to be useful (in a modified 500+hp application)...is going to make some funny noises in the engine if you inject below 9-10psi boost. *I* wouldn't run any street setup that came on before 12psi.

    How worn is my engine

That is a lot of blowby. I'd run a compression test before investing a whole lot in that engine.

derr...reading fail...on my part. good work.

tuning alone or add water injection?

If it was an auto trans...where a tuner could have complete control on fueling annnnd shifting..you should have no problem. however, with a manual trans...even with spot on tuning...if you don't choose the right gear (rpm up/boost up)..then you could get yourself into trouble. I'm running...

    Water/meth injection question

be careful triggering water inj based on boost pressure... there are scenarios where you can have high EGT's and zero boost (end of drag strip pass, end of sled pull...end of stop light to stop light run)...when EGT's will still be high enough to inject water... without the heat from the boost...

    oil side question

the injector itself has +/- 0.375" valve...that lifts about .012" I wouldn't worry about the lines.

    Coolant in oil

as much as I hate to agree/reiterate my point... you're more likely to have a cracked cylinder wall than a blown head gasket on a 7.3L. I've written a detailed diagnostic procedure for testing the block for a crack, without pulling the engine and magnafluxing or visual inspection...but don't...

    Coolant in oil

Oil cooler failures typically put oil into the coolant due to the oil pressure being significantly higher. In my experience, with these issues it well may be a cracked block.

    Stumped! Help!

doubtful...but at this point I don't see that you've even verified WHAT the ICP pressure is..you're going off what (seems to be) a bogus/default value displayed by a scan tool. you need to first monitor what your ICP pressure IS WHILE CRANKING...either with a mechanical gauge on a cylinder...

    Stumped! Help!

no...it simply means that you aren't making enough (mechanical) pressure to fire the injectors. as to which component is preventing the pressure to build? that's called diagnostics. IPR IPR o-rings HPOP injector poppet valves injector o-rings any number of HPOil fittings and o-rings on the...
