    Won’t start (sometimes)

Have you tested the GPR and glow plugs? Cycling the relay does nothing but wear out the relay. The relay will stay on for up to 2 minutes after you turn the key on.

What fluid and how much for d60?

I haven't heard of a D60 front end having a LS in it. It's possible but not likely. For fluid it is 5.9 pints of 80w90 QL or KL specs. I used synthetic Valvoline 80w90 in my D50 and even if yours does have LS most if not all synthetics have the friction modifier in them from the factory

    Wiring questions for fog lights

They are actually quite simple. The coil of the relay will be connected to a ground and in this case power from the parking lights. The feed from the battery will go through a fuse to the contact position of the relay and then the fog lights will be connected to the other side. Then when...

    Wiring questions for fog lights

I doubt that they are wired through a relay but there should be a fuse. But you have to consider that the factory only figured that only the parking lights and the other associated lights would be on that circuit and sized the wiring and fusing to what the load would be. Now you come along...

And a relay to switch the power feed from the battery. Use the parking lamps to switch the relay

Where are you mounting your handguns

I just carry it on my hip. Then it is there is I should ever need it and not back in the truck.

    Battery’s

Batteries are a crap shoot anymore. Some live longer than others and then you can buy the same batteries again and get half the life out of them. I got close to 11 years out of my first set of factory Motorcraft's. Then less than 6 out of the replacement Motorcraft's that I bought from the...

    203 thermostat or not

My stock 195 thermostat never did get much above the N in normal on the stock gauge. But it will run on the M with the 203 degree one from Diesel Site

    96 powerstroke no start

What do you get when you touch both test leads together? It should be 0 Do you get anything when you test one of the injector pins?

    96 powerstroke no start

Me thinks that you need to move a little bit north of the Mason Dixon Line. Even in the summer my truck needs the glow plugs to start, that is unless it is above 70 for half the day. But then perhaps it will but I don't want to wear my batteries and starter down to where it might start when...

    96 powerstroke no start

^^^^^ This Test the glow plugs from the valve cover gaskets. The outside pins on each connector go to the plugs. I don't remember what the readings are for a good plug but I believe it is between 2 and 6 ohms. You might do a search to find out for sure. Also only Motorcraft ZD-11 glow plugs...

Compatability with old obs to new obs

On the bed it really depends on if it is a factory or aftermarket bed. I have seen aftermarket ones have mountings set up for either the cab and chassis or a standard bed.

Raising the engine - how to?

Do you have a backhoe? You really need a hoist/engine puller to raise it. I wouldn't trust anything else, you'll either break or bend anything else.

Compatability with old obs to new obs

If I remember right the 87 doesn't have the speed sensor on the rear end as our truck do, so you would have to figure out another way to get a digital signal for the speedometer and odometer to work and everything else that is associated with it. The bed should be OK to swap.

    No crank

The fender mounted relay only sends a signal wire down to the starter solenoid to kick in the starter which does the high amperage work. Other than that if the fender mounted one is pulling in when the key is turned to start then everything from the ignition switch to it should be good to go.

    No crank

Instead of banging on the starter with a hammer get a volt meter out and check the voltages on the fender mounted relay and see if you are sending voltage down to the starter solenoid when you turn the key to start. If you don't have a meter you really should have one when working on these...

    No crank

Unless it was just a loose connection expect the problem to come back.

How are the batteries? Do you have a charger that you can put them on for a day and then retry to start?

    Mounting bracket for central hydraulics

I hate to say it but you just might have to figure it out yourself. Get some angle iron and start looking on how you can do it.

Part # for fuel filter? Dealership selling me wrong one

That's a stock cap where the filter clips into the cap. The factory filter part number is F4TZ9N184A if you are buying it from Ford. Here are all the filters that will fit a factory housing: (Fleetguard) FS1298 (Baldwin) PF7678 (International) 1822631C91 (Motorcraft) FD4595 (Racor) IN F4595
