Just looked at the Vin tag and she's got 3.73:1. Yippy dont have to worry about switching gears or axles.

Haha at times it seems like it but I have been burned plenty of times also. Like the time I bought a RZR that was stolen and I'm now taking the guy to court to TRY and get my money back.

Made some progress this weekend.

First I need to get the X into the garage so I could start working on it. Didn’t want to wait for my friends to get off work to use one of their trucks so I thought I would try with my car. Moved it about 20ft then gave up. Didn’t want to break anything on the car since the trucks at the cabin and the car is my daily driver. My dad stopped by and helped me with his truck.
Thru a fresh battery in her and started right up. (not sure why I didn’t try that first)
Saturday morning I started yanking the front clip off and getting the V10 out. Right after lunch she was out. Pulled the transmission and t-cast out with the motor.
Cummins is being deilverd to work tomorrow and I’m towing the truck to my brother to lift the body off the frame next week. From there I can fit the Cummins on the chassis and underline the body to try and keep noise down.

Few pics

For you guys that have done this conversion. Is it possible to keep the factory ECM hook the ford sensors up to the cummins and use the ford ECM to control the transmission?

For those of you that have done these conversions can i leave the stock PCM to control the transmission. I understand that PCS is a better way to go put its also 850 bucks. I dont mind spending the money but if I can make the stock one work I'm all for that.

Whats the disadvantage of the stock one?

Thanks Mike

You can definitely keep the ecm and run the ford sensors in the cummins. I see no reason why you couldn't wire the ford ecm to control the transmission. I made a wiring harness so that the factory dodge pcm controls the 47re in mine. I wanted to save money on a PCS same as you and it works flawlessly

Safety chain is what you see. Log chain wrapped around the tow hooks then back up to my truck.

No lights :( had some all rigged up and they ended up not working. Wanted to make it home before dark so I just threw the hazards on and went with it. ONLY had 90 miles togo on the highway :) If I did it again I would have lights.

Motor showed up to work on Thursday and have been working on it since. Spent some time at work this morning making a adjustable pump gear and fixing the threads on the pump. The threads were to far gone to save so I milled them off and tapped the center for a 3/8-24. Does anyone know how hard these pump should turn over on the bench. This one seems hard but then again I have never dealt with one of these pumps.

Also made a block off plate for the ps/vaccum pump.

Along with sandblasted a bunch of parts.

Made some big prgoress this weekend. Got the body off the frame, frame pressure washed and motor set in. Going to start building motor mounts tonight and if all goes as planned with be painting the frame this weekend. Order 400 dollars in paint. Went with POR-15, self etching primer, then a black topcoat. Going todo the frame and underside of the body.

Here is some pics.

Thanks. Yes this weather is BS. Lucky for me I get to pick the boat up at the fairgrounds at 1 and bring it up to brainerd. This should be a fun drive. :(

Oh yea. The motor ened up being out of a medium duty truck so non of the accersorys would work. I ended making brackets to work with Ford accersorys. Then the pump was out of a 8.3l so I sent that out to get gone thru. After a few months of dicking around the motor is in and running, body is back down and most things are botton up. Working on wiring right now. It has been a slow process unlike most things I do since I have been building a pole barn, starting a new job, and getting ready for a little.

Mid august it should be driveable. Oh yea still need to get the drive shaft lengthed and shortened.

Right on.
My buddy used a place called Fleet Pride in Roseville to have his driveshaft shortened in his 12v rcsb project we are working on.
Throw up a pic.
