hey guys,
tried to plug in scanner and says it cannot connect.
truck ran fine before. when i bought the truck the previous owner had a toggle switch wired up to the fuel pump and inertia switch. I put it back to factory wiring and now the fuel pump wont turn on.
im not sure if i had a reading before via the data link because i never tried untill now.

i have power to pin 16, and low voltage on the other pins.
anyone have any ideas??

thanks!

Make sure your fuel bowl heater fuse is not blown. Are you getting a WTS light?

If your fuel bowl heater fuse is fine and you are not getting a WTS light, PCM could be the problem.

Check the harness's on the LH inner fender. I think there is 5-6 and 2 of those will interchange and cause weird issues. It doesn't even crank right?

It cranks! Had it running today but only with a constant supply of ether. Once we stoppped spraying it died. And that was directly wiring in the fuel pump to the battery. Sounds like fuel is not getting in. And when it was "running" the WTS light did not shut off.

my truck is a 2002. all the fuses are under the steering wheel i believe.
i tried to trace back a few wires, would you know where i can find the fuel pump relay? i am getting 12 volts from the pcm to the wire no. 94 ( fuel pump relay signal)

Fuel pump relay is internal to the fuse box in 02. Did you use the 02 fuse box or the newer one?

Ok. That will explain alot! Thanks. I Used the 2002 fuse box. Swapped all wiring from the 02. I checked the 2 fuses of the pcm (22 and 36) and both get 12v when I turn the key.
Its weird because the truck ran before but he had that switch installed. ( cut wire from fuel pump and inertia stitch) but now everything back to normal and won't start.

sent the pcm out to have it tested, all positive results. said it should run.
I am at a standstill again. all wiring looks good. all fuses are good.

Let's start over here. Can you get a scanner to com with the pcm to pull codes? With the key turned on, and all wiring back to factory, do you have current at the pump?

Can you run the bypass like before and get the pump run fuel up to the bowl?

Scanner does not connect with pcm. And when I turn the key the fuel pump doesn't turn on. I wired it directly to the the battery to turn it on. But then it still wouldn't turn on.
So now my WTS light doesn't turn off, and it shows I have normal oil pressure even tho the truck is not on. So it trips the check gauges light bc of that I think.

Maybe if I fix the oil pressure issue it still fix it? Would it be a bad sensor? Wasn't on before

If you wire the pump direct and it doesn't run then the pump is bad.

Which fuse box is in it now? From the 7.3 truck or 6.0?

It still doesn't run with fuel pump wired. Only ran under constant spray of ether.
Its the 7.3 fuse box. I transferred all the 7.3 wiring

You need to check and see if you have power at the inertia switch, if so, you need to continue to check for continuity from there to the fuel pump.

I suspect you have more then one problem, but start with that. Did you double check the harness's on the drivers innerfender well?

I will check the inertia switch today again. I'm guessing I have a small short somewhere from transferring the harness.

All wiring is from a 2002. And my truck is a 2003. But I changed everything over except steering wheel and gauge cluster.

It still doesn't run with fuel pump wired. Only ran under constant spray of ether.

- Did you disconnect the fuel pump harness from the rest of the truck and did you hot wire the fuel pump direct to a 12v source?

- With the fuel pump disconnected, did you put a test light on the truck harness?

Doesn't make sense that the truck will run on ether and not on fuel.

Correct. The wire was cut before. So I made a direct connection from battery to fuel pump. When it ran on ether the gas pedal wasn't working.

All connections on left diff of truck are correct. And I'm only getting about half a volt to the inertia switch.
