ok guys, how hard do you think it would be to get a 2011 frontend replacement to fit and look right on a 2006 truck? from the ball park looks the 2005-2007 and the 2011+ both have the portion that hangs down below the front grill unlike the 2008-2010. not to sure how much trouble it will be but i think im going to try to make it work

def fenders, hood, grille, lights, possibly the header panel and or a lot of work to it to make it fit the configuration of the 06 rad, ic and various other things up front, if you want the bumper the mounts are different on the 06 than the 11 also, It can be done on of the sponsors, posted a pic of an excursion with it done looked good but took alot of work

Ok you guys realize I'm talking about a front end replacement bumper like a ranch hand built from steel that is suppose to fit a 2011 but basically making it fit the 2006 truck. I don't see any reason to modify the truck in any way. All I'm planning on doing is re working the brackets or building new brackets. I was curious as to how it will all line up. POssibly some one has see some one maybe put a bumper (stock) from a 2011 on a 2005-07 or vice verse?

Lol nah I'd probably be the guy with a 08-10 or a 11+ swapping back to the 05-07 sheet metal.. Just found a deal on a front bumper I just don't really have a way to compare the 2 trucks though. I figured some one though had tried to swap bumpers or something though

if its just the bumper you would still have to make it line up correcty and make new brackets, i found a hell of a deal on a full replacement for an 11 but wont work with the 08

yeah was gonna jump on it but dont have the time to fab it up, found a top gun a few months ago with the bull nose for 400 for my 08..

I had a road armor on my 03 and got it off of craigslist for the large sum of a factory plastic air dam!

Got it for a hundred bucks. Not to sure how its gonna line up but getting it straight won't be to terribly hard. If I found them regularly for 100-125 for a full bumper I'd already have one on my truck and a spare in the garage. I occasionally find one here and there for 400-450 but by the time I get to them they are gone and I'm not able to get it.

So I spent a couple of quality hours with a torch, bfh and a few other persuasion tools and got the mounting brackets straightened out. Today after work I pulled my bumper and managed to get it installed. The bumper will bolt up. After getting as much adjustment up as I could. The bumper is about 1.5-2" lower than the headlights. The angles are pretty close where the metal breaks at the angle between the grill and the lights. Its not dead on factory finish but not terrible. The light hoops on either side are larger and the center bar runs thru the middle of the headlights. I took some pics and will post them up later. But to make this bumper work and look pretty good I'm going to have to rework the light hoops on both sides, cut the frame mounts and shorten them up a few inches. Then possibly get some flat or diamond plate steel to fill the larger gaps kinda like ranch hand does it.

I'm in total agreement. Haven't decided if I'm going to make it work by modifing it or sell it.
Just wanted to put the pics up so someone else like me would know what they were dealing with

The first thing I noticed was the thickness of the material, I didn't think the steel would be so thin. I never liked tht style on a SD. Too blocky on the smoother edges of the SD.

I never ever imagined it would fit well. The 2008+ bumper is pretty much straight across, while the grille dip of the 05-07 is fairly deep.
