The first thing I noticed was the thickness of the material, I didn't think the steel would be so thin. I never liked tht style on a SD. Too blocky on the smoother edges of the SD.

I never ever imagined it would fit well. The 2008+ bumper is pretty much straight across, while the grille dip of the 05-07 is fairly deep.

This bumper was for a 2011. Had it been for a 2008 I probably could have used the upper painted portion of the stock bumper to fill the gap. My stepdad built his from scratch and did it that way and it turned out nice.

I do like the frontier bumpers over the pipe ones just as far as looks go. They seem to fit the contours of the truck better than a big pipe and diamond plate other brand that is very blocky. After messing with this one if I get another frontier it will likely get some material added to increase the structural rigidity. Don't get me wrong it is probably stronger than the stock bumper but not like a ranch hand

Update, cleaned up the bumper and sold it yesterday. Took the proceeds and added $180 bucks and got front and rear ranch hands that actually fit the truck. Now to drill holes in the rear for parking sensors and sell my stock bumpers!

We view them mainly as traffic negoation devices and secondly as animal protection from deer and other large animals that wonder on the road ways in the middle of nowhere

I know one thing at a time. The bed is super easy to swap and I already have the new step/camera tailgate on this bed.The hard part is finding a 2011-13 bed for under 1200.00 without driving halfway accross the country.

Yeah! the top front halfway. Its just like the 08-10 conversion.I kept the cut off pieces incase I ever had to weld it back on.The conversion wasnt so bad and I'm not a autobody guy by trade just as a hobby.

Here is a before shot with a 2005-7 nose I put on years ago.And dont ask the 05-07 nose I took off is long gone.

You will need to whole front clip, I know a local guy who has done two of them on 7.3's. He said you have to fab up all new bracketing ( obviously I know but... ) and it takes time to get everything to line up like factory. How ever it looks really sharp once done right.

Here is some pictures of them.

Yeah it only took me 3 days to do my 2012 nose conversion on my 99.5.It would have went faster if I had an extra hand. You do need the whole front clip fenders, hood, hinges etc...

That 11 conversion looks good. I will be attempting this with my excursion.

The 11-12 conversion is easier on a gas excursion/f250 f350 because you can put a bodylift on it and then you dont have to cut the front of the frame as much or at all.I forget why you cant do a bodylift on a diesel but when I was looking into it everyone said it cant be done.:)
