Got the tailgate and taillights done. Anyone got a spare cap for the top of this thing?

you can buy the tailgate top cap at ford for like $50

Looks good I've had mine on far awhile now but I had to get mine color matched.

I wasn't sure about the line on the gate but I ended up liking it.

I wasn't sure about the line either. Throw the newer taillights in and it all matches up perfect though.

Ya I just did a '10 gate with step and camera and rear light housings. I like it. For the cost I wasn't going for a newer gate than that.

I lucked into mine. But around here they go for about 600$ gently used. What are you seeing on Craigslist? Btw where are you at?

I'm in Virginia Beach, VA. I've only seen a couple 13's but they were going for $1000+

I paid 300 for mine. No bs either. It was mint with everything on it. I had a little over 200$ into paint and fuel to go get the gate. Best part is I sold my factory 00 gate for 100 $ but it was also like mint to. All in all it was well worth it.

The guy I bought it from worked at a place that installed work boxes and then he would buy the factory parts from them and resale them.

Bringing this back up, I like the look of the newer gates and have a chance to pick up a 2012 gate for $400 supposed to be mint condition and the correct color for my 06 which is black. Are the 12 and 13 gates the same style like body line wise I like the look of the 13. Anything else involved in the swap?

12 doesn't have the new upper body line around the handle.

Okay didnt think so, $400 still seams like a good price to me or no? Granted I haven't seen it yet either.
