Is there going to be another option instead of the ugly looking plastic intake manifold?

Wasn't trying to step on toes either. Will the kit be available with out the 15 turbo?

I'm not selling without a turbo, I don't know what purpose that would serve.

And yes piping is in the works.

It is also possible that people have connection to buy the turbo locally for cheaper than it can be found online. Seems like a kit WITHOUT a turbo would be a good option and a good money maker.

Sort of like a dual fueler kit with or without pump.

I dont mean to be an asshole. But there is literally so much time involved in sourcing every single little piece that it is not worth the hassle if it is sold incomplete, well barely make the money to justify the time spent as it is. Time is money, and the time Tadd, Morgan, Myself have in this retro kit is a nightmare to believe.

Just my .02

I get the time aspect, would it not be worth it though to sell the kit (maybe at a bit higher markup) without the turbo involved?

I just see moving many more of those kits and as long as the margin is there, it would make sense.

Shops such as ourselves don't have the time/people to do the R&D but are willing to pay others to do it (Elite, RCD, Midwest ect). If that means we pay a few dollars more but can buy the turbo locally (saving on shipping and turbo cost) that is totally worth it.

I do see both sides though, there is a ton of time put into finalizing a kit for the public... props to those that do it!

I understand, we all know the parts will be available from ford. We all know different shops get different pricing from ford. I understand that if I buy at say 10% over cost and the next guy does too, that they would obviously not want to pay my up charge above that.

But, for the people wanting to buy there own turbo and mount it, they can buy there own parts, gaskets, hardware, etc. do the work to save the money.

The margin is already going to be tight on them with the competition and pricing that is already available from ford. I personally am not going to sell them without a turbo and shoot all my profit down the drain just to save else someone time and money.

Hence us selling a kit minus turbo for less, to make less profit, for the same amount of work. Just so the end customer can save a $100. Not being an ass, but as of right now I'm not interested.

Man I like all you guys and all doing the RD. But this is a bit of a preemptive strike without any testing on a tuned truck.....

Already shoving pricing out and changing it the next night. Ect ect ect.

I really thought the focus was more pointed towards the aftermarket turbo setup.

Regardless. Kudos for you guys putting a kit together for those wanting to just pass off a simple setup for the simple truck.

I can already see availability from FoMoCo being horrible on this as they are not stocked to sell all the parts the are needed and have a .5% lifetime demand.

How many people do you think would rather have a truck with a reliable stock charger.

Think about this.

6.0 trucks, how many more powermax's get sold than a non vgt set up.

No pricing released on our end either.. waiting patiently.

You're not being an asshole, I get it. I still think there would be people who would pay a small premium to have everything they needed to install their own turbo. At least I know I would.

Yeah. I understand your point. And agree with it. I'm just looking at something you guys may want to consider. Maybe... reverse engineering some of the parts that WILL become a national backorder item very fast as you vendors start to move a few of these kits is all... FoMoCo doesn't plan on stocking all the brackets and little things your going to need to build a complete kit. That's just parts marketing and inventory control strategy.

I am excited to see what can be done with the setup nonetheless!

As of right now we did not release any pricing nor any release date. In fact we've spent literally more time and money than probably anyone currently has along with dyno time to get proven results. Our kit will not be released until every bug is worked out and fully tested with data to back it. Is there a problem with that?

And I know what the cost will be 100% but till it's ready, I will not be releasing it. It will not be marked up anymore than standard price from ford. Not gonna up-charge for the convenience.

So, I don't think your gripe is with me correct?

Why? Why pay $2-400 or more worth of up charge? You think you'll get a turbo that cheap? Probably the only way we would sell it without the turbo would be to add a larger markup so we make the same. And for that you'll never come out ahead. Unless you have a free used turbo. And no one has those right now. Maybe in a year or two we will start offering without a turbo. But not right off the bat. Especially since no one has free/spare parts laying around anyway.

I wish it came with free install lol but if pay for that too hahaha

You just bring your happy ass over here and unhook that camper for a day or so.... We will make that thing a whole new animal.

Since they are currently in manufacture of the engine they will keep stock up to demand as much as can be bought. Believe me, if there are orders they will get filled.

Vendor competition is rather entertaining from time to time.

No gripes here.

Reread the posts again Morgan. Nothing against you. Do I need to use size 50 font with another KUDOS? OR I could use an English word and say GOOD JOB!! (Seriously)

OBVIOUSLY... When I referred to price moving and availability it was in reference to Elite

Who will be first?

Haha, I wasn't trying to thump my chest or anything. But thanks.

You'd be surprised how we all work together. I would imagine that the price hike was due to an informative phone call that was made to help them not get stuck with their pants down selling and incomplete kit. Probably by someone who has had the turbo sitting on there for well over a week. If you can figure out who that was the puzzle will fall together.

I assume whoever has the best line on parts to get what they need. Will be the first with real availability. Last we checked two days ago, there were zero pipes in the pdc nor any remaining dealer. Ford supplier mislabeled every single one. So it may take a week or two to get it figured out. Once we have full stock of complete kits it will be released.

Well from what I have gathered we will have a complete kit shipping from Mike on Monday (will be Elite's kit).

I will update this when the parts arrive and we get them installed. The truck is a 2012 and is having current turbo issues.

With all of you guys working on conversion kits, have you verified the port for the claimed exhaust gas temperature sensor on the '15 manifold? I read several places that the '15's were supposed to come with them for better control of fueling. If indeed it is there it could make it easier for those with older trucks to get the EGT readings via and aftermarket probe or factory probe with the DPF harness. Just thinking out loud.

One main thing I'm interested in knowing.... drive pressure. And actually on all the kits really.... I'm just curious.

I know Morgan has shown a 70 HP increase with zero changes to anything else from stock to 63/68?

I would really like to see some more hard data.

Like stated before. There really needs to be a turbo sticky thread up here in this forum section like the 6.4 guys have...

All the info is way to scattered out everywhere!
