4.30 Gears or 2015 Billet wheel turbo first?

Hey guys. 2013 Dually (3.73) H&S tuned, deleted on 34.5's (295 60 20). The truck is pulling 90% of its life. Typically 16-18,000lbs trailer weight.

It pulls great, but tuned and deleted with the larger tires is not quite as strong as stock tires with no tune. I find myself having to pull at 75+mph to keep it in the sweet spot where it will actually stay in 6th. That's a bit faster than I'd prefer. I wish I would bought a 450, but too late for that.

Two choices..4.30 gears and/or 2015 turbo.

The gears would likely do more for me and get the rpm around 2000-2100 cruising at 65-70, but then I'm still left with a failure prone stock turbo.

Dyno chart shows the 2015 turbo making 100lbs more tq at 2000rpm. Do you guys believe that?

I considered just buying a 2015 450, but I've put too much into this one.

3m, Titan tank, leveling kit, tires/rims, tune, delete, air bags, compressor, goosneck blacked out bumpers, grill surround, etc, etc. I've only got 16,000 miles on mine.

Turbo. Trust me all I do is tow and I have 35's. And 3.55s. Turbo all day.

But don't expect you're fuel mileage to get better but you'll have much better power. Hit up Morgan at Midwest. Loving mine, just clocked 30k miles on my turbo swap. And I will be going to a 4.10 gear later but I may upgrade trucks beforehand.

Just did the 15 swap in mine, with Morgan's Tow max. I have basically same setup as you, so will give some driving impressions.

Compared to stock height, stock wheels.

Here's what I pull. The 38' gooseneck is fairly heavy. 8000lbs, plus 8000lbs of cars, plus 1000lbs race gas.

I have a 42' 5th wheel lol its 16,5k empty. The turbo made all the difference. Trust me it moves enough air to make up for it. And also that trailer full of cars has me drooling.

The white car belongs to a friend and makes 1100whp, the black one is mine and makes 1300whp. Mine ran 60-130 in 4.1 when it made 1100, I'm hoping to be sub 3.5 seconds on the new setup. Should run 8.8 or better at the 1/4. Won't have it on the track until March at TX2K15 (Houston).

Pm me. I have a wholesale account with Eagle. I'll see what I can find. I know they're blowing out a set in polished, 8 on 200 right now.

Just put an intake on mine and spool up is even better with the '15 turbo. Going to hook the camper up to go drain the tanks and will know how it pulls better than.

I'm still running a stock intake. Didn't think there was much to be gained adding an intake with just tuning and deletes.

I didn't either but it helped on the initial throttle output. As soon as I touch the throttle it spools. Makes this '15 turbo spool even faster.
