From what I'm seeing, it looks like I can just get the center console from a 6.4 and there should be enough room for the transfer case shifter.

Wouldn't the tan color be the same? My truck is a Lariat. So the Lariat center console from a 6.4 should match besides the year difference, right?lol
I'd buy the king ranch front and rear seats from a 6.4 if I had the money. I could live with that lol

Well now I'm tossing around the idea of swapping cabs and engines, and finding a clean long bed take off and getting it painted my color. I'd end up with a 350 long bed which is something I've always wanted. Especially since I'm about to be in the market for a fifth wheel trailer.
Just not sure if there would be something significant in fine print that I am not thinking about that could cause a problem. Like vin number or title situation or something like that.

That is what I was thinking all along... Just swap your cab/engine over to the donor frame. Save a lot of time in my opinion if you have the tools to do it.

Holy lord this is escalating FAST!

So for the trans to have a slip yoke, its going to be a male end spline. Your input shaft on the transfer case is going to be a male end spline. Not to be political here, but those two dont mate up in my book.

I'm thinking this is the route I am going to go. I would get more of a truck out of the whole ordeal so to speak.

Not gonna lie, that was foreign language to me. I think I know what a slip yoke is but the rest I'm lost on. I still think the switching cab and engine will be my best route to go now.

Because of the money invested in this one. Plus I'm more than halfway done paying this truck off. It would be cheaper to swap cabs & motors then find a bed to paint I would think.

You can get new longbed takeoffs for 800-1500 (having the gate, lights and wiring).

Do it. Longbed is the way to go if you EVER use the truck. My 00 is a ccsb and if it wasnt my first new truck id have got rid of it ten times over. Ive never bought another shortbed since.

Yeah some motivation! Lol my buddy gave me the idea a while ago and I'm really wanting to do it. This is my first truck I've paid for, second vehicle ever. And I don't want to get rid of it but I've always wanted to have a 350 srw long bed.

I picked up the donor truck for 1500 so in my eyes I can come out way ahead rather than selling this and buying a srw 350 cclb.

For the time, effort, and money, wouldn't it just be easier to sell your truck and buy what you want, and swap your parts over? Then in the end you have a truck that matches the VIN. Selling a cummins swap was a nightmare, I can't imagine selling a truck 9 years newer with a VIN that dosent match the truck itself. That is unless you plan on keeping it forever.

Edit, didn't see your last post.

Why not sell your truck and buy a 4x4??? The vin will get real shady if you ever sell.

I've always wanted to do the swap and when I saw that truck Coke up locally it was hard to resist.
That's the route I'm going to end up taking now. Told the guy I couldn't do it. Who am I kidding lol I don't even have enough time to have my DD down to do anything like that. With the price of oil I don't need to be off spending all my monies on stuff like that anyways.
Next truck will be a 4x4 though. See how much the 2017s are after they are out for a while so the kinks can get worked out.

Don't get me wrong, neat idea! But fiscally you're right, smarter to go with a butt ugly 2017 :p That being said, if they make an aftermarket "Raptor" front end... this 2015 is getting traded in SO FAST!

I should've done it a long time ago. Hey I love the 2017 look so far. The dually lol
Yes the raptor front end for the 2017 looks bitchin.
I'll end up getting something used most likely with hardly any miles.

The front end just kills it for me. The rest, holy HELL! So yeah, I can see myself getting one, but only if I can verify a 2017 Raptor front end will fit, even if I have to do a 1 off custom job.

The interior though... hnnnngggggg!!!
