Well it turns out I'll be doing the 4wd swap anyways.
A local guy has 4wd and is wanting to convert to 2wd so he can slam his truck.
I'm getting everything, including his 4-link setup, but not his transfer case, which I'm fine with because I will need the manual t-case.

So my question that I'm wanting to get input on is that I currently have 3.31 gears. I drive 90% highway and don't tow often as of now but I'm about to be in the market for a 5th wheel camper.
The front axle I'm getting from this guy will be geared in 3.55. But I currently have 3.73 gears in a box waiting to go in my rear axle. So what would everyone suggest on which gears I should go with? 3.31 or 3.73? I'm leaning towards 3.73 but I just wanted to get some other people's input before I pull the trigger on the front set.

3:73 has been the happiest all around gear in my experience. that being said i race and tow a bit. For long highway runs you may net better mileage with 3:55 and if you find it lugging, just lock out 6th gear...

What ratio do you have?
My problem right after I did my turbo swap was that the tunes I had were ****. I was hauling a tiny little pop up trailer to Yellowstone that weighed maybe 2.5K-3K. Every decent hill if I didn't lock out 6th gear I was turning the highway into a smoke show. Embarrassing. But locking out 6th with 3.31s was fine but that was hauling that little baby trailer. But it did the same thing when I was unhooked. So I kinda blame the tuning on that I guess.
I'm thinking I'm either going to go 3.73 or 3.31 given I already have 3.31 in the rear and 3.73s in a box. I don't really want to buy 3.55s for front and rear when I already have the rear taken care of whichever ratio I end up choosing.

So y'all are saying 3.55s over either of those?

my personal preference is 3:73 but my driving habits and how i use my truck may be different than yours. if you spend a pile of time on the hwy, 3:55 may be better for you.

3:55 is acceptable and would be the cheapest for you to just return your rear gears and get 3:55 to match the front.

I'm thinking along those lines now. I live in Texas. Speed limit is 75 on all of the highways I drive(I go about 80mph when empty) and 80mph on certain stretches of highway.
I'm seeing if I can return the 3.73s in return for 3.55s

82mph is 2000rpm with 3:55 with factory height 35" tires.

I don't tow but occasionally .... but when I do its 26,000lbs and 3:55''s do perfectly fine.

Awesome, that's something I was needing to hear lol I won't be towing nearly that much I'd think. I'm sending the 3.73s back in return for 3.55s on Monday.

The aluminum 150's look awesome.

The aluminum super duty looks like super dookie :( (super dooty?)

The walk-around video of the new platinum left me a little nauseous.

I know they'll grow on me as they age, but man... there's so much to overcome on the exterior aesthetics. I haven't particularly cared for the past two super duty exterior overhauls when they first came out, but I warmed to them fairly quickly.

But for the first time ever, the super duty revise looks like an afterthought... which it is...

It's a gussied up 150 with a big blocky front end and rear end hung off of it. Much like a GM HD.

I'm way out on it for the foreseeable future (in large part due to the $75k price tag LOL)

The front end just kills it for me. The rest, holy HELL! So yeah, I can see myself getting one, but only if I can verify a 2017 Raptor front end will fit, even if I have to do a 1 off custom job.

The interior though... hnnnngggggg!!!
