Had a set of 6.0 heads o-ringed and noticed one of they cylinder's ring had a small gap between the wire ends. The other cylinders' didn't appear to have this gap. The machinist said the small gap wouldn't be an issue but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this issue. Thanks.

I've only dealt with a few and the gaps have always been 100% closed.

We have our own brand of o ring heads ill check them out Monday

Small gaps are not an issue. It really depends on how “small” you’re talking though. If it’s like 2-3 thousandths, not gonna be an issue, if it’s like quarter of an inch, that’s probably gonna be a problem. Biggest thing to remember is the o ring is not sealing the combustion chamber, it’s just assisting the gasket in sealing, so a little gap will not cause a sealing issue.

Right. "fire ring" is misleading.

They are there to help with clamping force thanks to only 4 bolts
