Thought I'd start a thread for us to discuss whatever or if we have questions that we can't find the answer to but don't warrant their own thread.

I'll start. Does anyone have a way to keep the boot that goes into the bottom of the IC on the drivers side to keep from slipping off? It's not coming all the way off just enough to leak

I really like this idea...have you tried hitting the boot with some hairspray on the inside to make it stick after u clean it all off?

I check mine often - I ended up going with a aftermarket boot from a local truck supply shop after ripping a factory boot. Also make sure there is no oil on the surfaces before you put the boot on.

What I do is use a strong degreaser and clean the inside of the boot and the IC inlet. Get some coarse grit sand paper and scuff the metal and tighten the sh!t out of the clamps. The scuffing provides enough bite for the silicon to prevent it from slipping off.

I'll try the hair spray and then if that doesn't work I'll sand it down. And how did you manage 2 clamps on the intercooler side? Thats the one that keeps slipping off and theres barely room for 1 IIRC

If you are using a stock IC and the boot is still slipping off, chances are the silicon bead is thrashed. Once they slip they are pretty much junk and wont hold as well. Buy a new OEM boot and do the proper prep. Problem should be solved.

My thinking is if it stays popular it shouldn't need to be stickied, because it will always be at the top of the forum

I had this problem with the boot on the intake elbow. I went with diesel site's boots on all of the connections, double clamped the intake elbow and sprayed hair spray on the connections as well. Worked good so far, no more loud bangs!

So what's the Easiest way to replace the cab bolt nuts? I have to replace the pass. side front and rear nuts. Also does anyone have part numbers for the bolts or for the egt sensor?

Great thread Idea!!!

Ok, so when I did my build a couple weeks ago I found both heads cracked. I need my truck so I decided to just put them back cause it had been running fine. (It still is)

My question to y'all is what is gonna happen when the cracks become too severe? Water coming into the cylinders? Maybe pressurized crankcase?

I want to, I just don't feel like tearing the truck down again LOL
Hopefully I can get some more life out of it.
