I've never replaced the cab nuts even.after they spin. Seams like when you break that nasty loctite off they seam to be trouble free.

That being said if you just pull the carpet up you can access the nuts and remove them. on the very front removing the headlights and a stuby 7/8 wrench is key

don't have a answer for this, but pushing it up so it doesn't get missed

Thanks!

I've got a cage nut in packaging in my toolbox at work. I'll get the part number tomorrow when im there

Good deal! I also need the number for the bolt if you happen to have that too.

If you heat them up to.begin with they come out much easier... Just a little nerve racking having a torch in the cab

I'd say! No torch in the shop yet, we did have a cutting wheel on a 4" grinder though, I'll remember that for the next time. Stupid me, I busted them all loose with the 3/4" ratchet, except the one that the cage busted on, after I'd get them good and loose I ran them out with the batt. impact gun. Well I didn't get on of them loose enough and busted another cage.... live and learn I suppose.

I've got a few small questions lol.

Does anyone know what shocks people use when they lower their trucks via the 5.4 springs? And if they use the stock shocks, does anyone know what the collapsed length is on them?

And also, does anybody know where to get a full set of cab mounts, and are there any aftermarket ones? Mine are falling apart pretty bad

I will jump in . Wanted to start a topic on a built for my truck .Want to build 6-700hp fuel only but be able to tow my 40 foot camper or my snowmobile trailer. Read alot of topics about what works and what doesn't. Does anyone sell a package deal for this build or should I get all the info that works and order parts seperate. Also would like to be able to spray Since I have the system already installed. Already have studs, egr delete, and full built suncoast and running the 310 tune as DD.

Sounds like you just need to add air....Elites 71atmo gated so you can spray it would meet your goals.

I would like to go for more power but I need this to be somewhat reliable for towing.

:whs:

if you want something that runs smoke free, good power and reliable to tow...cant beat that option...and it'll get you in that power level you're looking for

My truck was a towing monster with the 71. I loved it. Plus it would put you right in the middle of the power range you are looking for. Can't go wrong with that setup.

I have stock shocks, they work okay. I have no idea on the collapsed length is.

Does $1350.00 sound reasonable to R and R the cab. I know it would be additional for parts replacement ect. Just curious to see if that sounds about right.
