I was kinda thinking a solenoid with a manual knob adjusting the power to it to move in and out. Then all I need is a couple gauges and I can control it myself and not use it when I don't want to.

I want something one off mostly. If nothing else, I could make something to keep the vanes completely open. No? While trying to make a sort of controller?

It would make it a smokey, unresponsive pig.

6.7 rods looks like they belong in a 2-stroke dirt bike.

Yeah, I came to realize that once I sat and looked at one. But the vgt control won't be as hard as I'd imagined. Though it'll be really primitive.

You do know that with the right non-vgt turbo you could have a pretty snappy 7.3 with the right size injectors and tuning.

Just to do it I guess. I'm not hoping to make this truck fast and decided on this turbo. I'm just trying to put this turbo on this truck, and hoping for advice/input.
I appreciate everyone's advice against it in consideration of better options, as I would make the same point to anyone who asked me about it.

if u make an electrical manual controller u will loose the performance of it. U will never be able to let your hand off the knob. To make a solid state controller u will have to look at more then just EBP so that the veins will close with engine load, and monitor MAP. Im sure there are a ton more values to look at and compare thru a microprosser to make a operational output. For someone who doesnt know electronics and tunning a vehicle i dont think this is for you.

now if u had a like a vgt4249? Off a 15L freightliner and huge injectors the story would be different.
