7.3 Engine R&R With 6 Speed

Will the engine come out with the trans still in? For some reason I think I remember it won't. I've done plenty of 4R100's but never a 6 speed.

Das ZF is like 2x the size of the 4r...its like 2 inches away from the trans tunnel... You'd have to have one hell of a tilt going on to get it out together... Just separate it, leave the trans in the truck

I was thinking the trans had to come out before the engine could come out

I support the trans with ratchet straps to the chassis. But ideally the trans would drop out, then you take engine out.

Like CTC, I always leave the trans in when pulling an engine. Support the front with a ratchet strap. Trans only comes out when it needs to!

Ya, definitely do not pull the engine and trans together. That ZF is one heavy sum beech for a pickup transmission anyway.
