Actually, International is not currently using the same CPS in the 444 as Ford is on the 7.3. I have an International one, it is a different color than the Ford.

Of course, this information is also three years old. Things may have changed since then.

It means you have a code stored. It would be very helpful to have that code.

Not necessarily...mine doea the same thing, and when it "cuts out" its like the ignition is turned off and then back on really quickly, therefore turning dash lights on as a normal initial turning of the key does. I still haven't narrowed it down because mine only does it on bumpy roads, leading me to believe its chaffed wires or uvhc. Can't find any obvious chaffed wires, amd havent pulled the valve covers yet.

Our local Ford dealer buys a bunch of parts from International. The cps is one of them. I have bought them both places and got the same part. Just the standard grey cps. That may however be different depending on your dealer.

PCM reset.

Try unplugging the EBP sensor.

You're getting a 5v reference shorted to ground somewhere and it's causing the PCM to reset.

Ok went to international and picked up two CPS's. There is a new part number for it now and they look identical to the ones Ford has. In the picture the Ford one is on the right. 40 bucks a pop. Put it in and so far so good!

Right on... there is nothing worse then trying to get somewhere on time and having the rig act up.

I thought I understood 7.3s pretty good until I actually had my FILs act up late at night on the interstate. Pulling a car trailer with my wife and daughter--took 5 hours to get 90 miles. The frustrating thing was that my FIL didnt leave the evo in the glovebox to read codes but he had a spare CPS...BUT, I didn't put it in because I was too busy focused on chasing a fuel issue since it started acting up right after a fuel stop. Got home, read the code and had it fixed in 20 mins.

Yeah, i figured it was a short somewhere, just can't find it, tried the ebp and icp sensors. It's hard to track it down when it only does it on bumpy roads. It has done it on a flat road once, that was about 4 months ago, flat, dry, pavement, cut out, came right back on and away I went, hasn't done it since. It's irritating.

well ****,...this thing is starting to wear on me. So, today it starts cutting out again, rpms irratic,... etc. So i pull my brand new cps and throw in the spare from glove box. Test drive it and it still does it. SES flashed briefly. So I need to get that code pulled. But any suggestions? Pull VC's and check connections? Just when I start to love my truck again it ****s on me. Happens every time.

no, those scanners can only check a code that trips the cel and most of the time not even then on a powerstroke.
