I'm already working on moving some weight around via a fuel cell and. Arteries behind the rear axle. I'll hang some lead back there too if I need to.
I'm not as concerned with weight as I am with weight bias.
I had a thread on Compd about these things...most are hovering around 65/35 f/r bias.
If I can knock that down to 55/45 I'll be ecstatic.
I'm not just cutting a truck down and making it short...there's some planning going into it.

Control arms and a whole new rear suspension are in the future plans...just not the budget this time. I put back 10K for this part...I'm already worried about going over budget.
When it's painted I'll be able to show off the one-off things I had made for the body...it's gonna drop a few jaws. :D

A 4 link with a Watts link and coil overs is definitely on the list so I can play with corner weighs.
That'll be next after I finish the main build. Possibly a fabbed 9" housing to lose a few lbs of unsprung weight. I think a 9" will survive if built right.

dragsters run a pro gear also, not street friendly. A 9" should be fine if built right

Most of the tractors in our pulling club (mini modifieds) run Dana 60s because the 9" wasn't holding up for them. Mine was together for at least 15 years before I finally wiped it out this year.
