So...besides the fact that you can say you have it, and earn many many cool points because you can say you have it, why titanium?

Thanks guys. I’ve got more of my blood sweat and tears into this than I’d like to admit. Proud of how it’s turning out for sure.

What size nozzle are you going to use? The attention to detail is amazing, looking forward to the finished product.

I’ve got some RCD 150% that are flow matched and balanced.

A couple reasons... with as heavy as this thing is and as hard as I beat it, I decided I’d start paying attention to the weight of things I was changing. My goal is to get a few hundred lbs of it. It’s several hundred pounds heavier than any other truck of its caliber unfortunately, so this go round I was somewhat weight conscious.

My original plan was to do the full exhaust in titanium - I was figuring I could have lost close to 40lbs just in the exhaust alone, but they only sold 5” in 2’ long pieces, and titanium v bands weren’t going to be available until June combined with the fact I was going to have to have a titanium downpipe flange made, I ended up back with stainless (for the exhaust anyway).

Aside from weight, the heat properties of titanium are much better than aluminum like I had, and stainless as well. I was sanding titanium pie cuts down the other day and they would heat up to the point I could barely hold them, but I could basically blow on them a few seconds and they’d cool off. My old aluminum piping would heat soak if I was driving it hard on hot days enough to where I could feel it in the pedal and notice it out the tail pipe.

Plus, this sh1t is cool lol. I love the way it looks and I wanted something that nobody else had. I’ve been spending a lot of time around GTR’s and Lambo’s lately and seeing all the titanium stuff a lot of those aftermarket companies use, I wanted in lol.

Jaydee you’re really getting into the nitty gritty of weight savings. Should have a midget run it for you at the track LOL.

Scratch that. JD gonna have the first autonomous 6.4 at the track.

Hahaha I just want to get down to at least something closer to what a few guys are at. Hopefully a small diet will help things live longer lol.

Yawn.... Is it running yet?

Steering Stabilizer

I'd like to go back to a single large steering stabilizer like that.

Curious, who makes that steering stabilizer? Part Number?

Made some good progress this weekend on the truck! As always, Nathannial has been crushing it. Fab work is out of this world. I’m so happy with it! Got the up pipes and wastegates finished out, the downpipe is done. All my stainless to build the exhaust is there along with the titanium for all the charge piping. No intercooler boots on this thing anymore, so it’s all Vibrant HD clamps. Started on the charge piping before I left, and it’s going to be awesome! I also finished up the new fuel system, and I’m pretty proud of it. Turned out really well. I also got the suspension piece mostly finished - just need to weld on the new shock mounts in the rear. Coming together!

I’ll go back out right after Easter and hopefully we can finish it up!
