well, nvm then. :D

my truck has been known to come of the ground on occasion, though rare, and i dont want to mess a bellow up.

i have a kit here, i've had for probably a year, and have been dragging my feet putting it on as i need some sort of limiter strap for just that reason, and i havent made up my mind on how i want to accomplish that.

Couldn't you just use the daystar air bag cradle?

This looks pretty slick, not going to lie... I guess if it could be setup to handle a few inches of lift it would be one pretty trick setup. Correct me if I'm wrong but having this type of 4 link would remove the need for any traction bars correct? 4 Link handles all the rotational forces.

I did see you can get "bumpstop replacement" version too... So triple bellow bags with enough reach for a lifted truck would put all the load frame to axle... being as it's further inside, you'd get more articulation out of the same length bag too

I haven't even begin to look at clearances though.

That is a good reason for triple ^ but You gotta watch your height/compond heights its never good to over extend or compress a bag for long periods of time, typically causes the rubber to separate at the metal top plate...95% of the time the top plate, don't ask why. I just know from this Industry.

Wow, That kit looks really good and actually appears fairly easy to install. Wish I towed more or could justify $4k on that setup.

4k is for the front and the back airbag setup. Rear only is like 2400. I did talk to them at one point. They said I would have to bring my truck to them so they could make the right brackets etc. since mine is lifted 8".

So by this statement, when the truck is level and unloaded do you want the bags dead nuts in the middle of the compression/extension range?

FWIW airbag it products don't have the best rep.

FWIW I have not heard that rumor, nor have I had an issue with the bags they sell.

And yes, having a four link takes care of the need for traction bars.

Anyways if your looking for a serious and capable air ride setup then spend the cash and do it properly. Otherwise if you have some time to mess around and don't want to spend 4k or be lifted 10+ inches then play with some things, fab up a four link and some big fat rolling lobe bags. Can be done for alot less than the kits available. And if you really wanna flex do a coil over conversion in the rear.

like mentioned daystars let you run the bottom of the bag un bolted

and they work awesome

.
this is true they are local to me and they have had a less than stellar rep and names like chassis tech/airbaggit.com/aim/ aim industries https://www.google.com/search?q=air...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

I think it was because they would mimic other folks designs they were or are big into the dropped crowd but their customer service was lacking and warranty was poor

however I think they may have improved or sold out to a better owner ?? and I did look at their super duty system

it's not bad IMHO

I would suggest them not being a good idea since the number one way to blow a bag apart (separate the metal from rubber) is to pressurize the bag with no resistance to hold the bag together(Most bags out there say that first thing in the packaging). A bag with say 50 psi in it would rip it self to pieces in no time if you were airborne for whatever reason. You can tell in that video that bag is not or barely pressurized, just acting like a dampener. Of course if it were bolted down and the axle dropped that much it would tear the bag apart too. The proper methods to prevent over stretching a bag at high speeds or jumping your rig is limiting straps or a "prerunner" style shock designed to limit axle travel. Other wise at low speed articulation most shocks out there are designed to handle some axle over extending travel without pulling the shock apart.

footlong, i dont even know where to begin.

yes, if you pressurize a bag with one end free, it will blow itself apart.

daystars, imo, are not for a 4 link with bags setup. that being the case, you will have daystars in a normal ride-rite set-up for example, as a replacement for the lower mount.

now, that being said, if you need 50 psi in your bags for whatever reason, it stands to reason that your loaded with something.

that being said, if your loaded, why would you come off the ground?? why would you be in a position that the bags would over stretch??

having never had a bag set up on my pick up, i'm making a few assumptions in those statements. though having bags in the semi, and hooked up with a gross of 80k, and my bags have 50 psi, is the knowledge i base those statements from.

that is all, carry on.
