alternator plug center wire cut

been adding lights and stereo to my 06 f250 upgrading my alternator as it never really put out more than 13.6 i have optima red tops already installed. my question or rather my conundrum is that the pig tail had been replaced going to my alternator and the center wire is cut and there is no wire leading back to the harness is one missing is this correct or did someone cut it out plz help anyone that may know

Alternator only uses 2 wires. Typically, I’ll pull the pin out of the connector, some people cut it so it looks like shit I guess…

Yup. Pull the face off, lift the lock and pull the wire out.
