Oh yeah, any powdercoater should be able to make it right and gloss.

It's plastic...it would melt in the oven.

Gare...with some light scuffing and prep paint will stick just fine.
Mine had a few rock chips in it but no more than the rest of the painted front end got.

Yes sir...I was very happy with how it held up. My truck seems to get eaten up with rocks but the insert held up find.
I wanna say he scuffed it just a tad then used an etching primer on the chrome then painted as usual but my memory may be hazy since it was so long ago.
Point is...go for it if you're considering it.

Point is...go for it if you're considering it.

exactly right they treat the plastic to make it like a metal for the chrome to stick to, usually scuffing with 180 grit paper, and a self etch or a epoxy primer will ensure adhesion and then spray desired color over the top. pretty easy, people are scared to paint chome but its really no harder than anything else, best part is chrome parts are usually way flatter, or smoother or better body work, or whatever you want to call it than parts that are intended to be painted, so you know after you throw color on it its going to be perfect.
