Any 2wd trucks running 5.4 springs in their 99-07?

hmmm, wonder if he just cut the top and bent the spring back to the right spot to go back through that hoop, or just left it out of the little hoop/holder thing?

Sure Ill try and get some. We started off cutting about half a single coil off then went from there to get desired height. Reused the same nut that held the stock spring in at the bottom. Fits like a glove. We just didn't put the spring retainer back in the top. Had to disconnect the tie rod and sway bar to get them in though. Rides pretty awesome.

Unless you jump the truck without the shocks or swaybay in, I don't see there being an issue.

Check out Unbroken's thread, I am going to try that before buying springs. Then if that doesnt work I will buy some new springs, possibly the 6.4 ones. I am still interested to see how he did the 6.4 springs though.

Are you looking for any specific pics? Or just what they look like in the buckets? We didn't take any of the process but its pretty straight forward. If you don't want to spend much coin on a set try to find a 6.4 guy that put 5.4 springs in and see if you can get them for cheap.

Yea, just some pics of the top in the buckets after they were cut. And thanks, thats kind of what I was thinking about just finding a 6.4 guy who swapped.

May look sketchy but 10k plus miles on it this way. You could probably re use the retainer top piece but we just didn't see the need to f with it.

Thanks for taking the time to get the pics. And it does look a little sketch LOL but I can see how you did it, and how I could make those work if I want.

Hmm... Yeah. Glad someone said it. LOL

It looks like it works, but I would have to have SOME type of retainer with it hanging half out like that.

If I did it, I would bend the end of the spring to go back in the factory retainer. Which I am probably going to do, just with my stock springs since I already have them

Maybe this weekend. Has been raining all week and is supposed to continue till friday I think. And the truck doesnt fit in the garage. So hopefully weather permits this weekend, that way I have the time and space
