I finally got this installed inn my truck, It does actually spool decent, and i haven't even tried playing with the tuning yet, just run a base file for a non vgt from WPE. it'll make 5 psi @ 1500rpm, and slowly creep up and when she hits 2000 rpm she takes right off. It will take a while to adjust my driving style so i don't blow too much smoke. biggest difference is I gotta roll into it slower and once she lights. mash it. Compared to my barder stg #2 it does move more air top end, and generally less BP. As far a egt's go, i can still hit 1700F on a wot pull. just takes a little longer. Its not WAY faster but does pull harder. worth the swap? i still haven't decided. running 60mph it makes 3-4 psi @ 70mph 5-6 and 80mph 6-7psi. Max boost has been about 35psi. the ebp to boost ratios are close to 1:1 until you hit 30psi then ebp gets higher and goes out of range of the factory gauge highest reading I've seen is 38psi ebp. It actually is very similar in many aspects to the stg #2. biggest difference is more top end, obviously not instant boost like a vgt. and no turbine whistle. I doesn't completely cleanup my 190 30's but I'm mont holding icp like i should i can actually feel the truck surge ahead if i back off the throttle and shorten PW with my foot then icp increases and truck feels much stronger @ 1.8-2 ms pw. I plan to ditch my rcd pump and try a diesel site.

With hpods and upgraded hpop you shouldn't have a problem holding icp. I run a diesel site hpop and hold full icp at wot with 225s.

My thoughts exactly. I've heard mixed reviews on diesel sites and rcds 05+ pump. Makes it difficult to decide what route to go, really don't wanna go dual pumps but can't risk pump failure or not holding icp after buying a thousand dollar pump

I've pretty much narrowed it down to the pump, I plan on trying a DS pump. They usually go on sale for Black Friday. Yes I have the IDP ficm tuning

OK so I got a gear head tune today... and it works! The spooling from a stop is clean and as quick as my stg 2 Barder was. Its still a little slower rolling into it at hwy speed but not an issue. ICP seems to hang in there a bit better too. Even the cruising boost at 65 mph is higher. amazing how much difference tuning makes. much happier.

No sir, yes I did and I'm pretty sure its the same thing as last time. Should put delipped pistons in it....

That sucks. Im sorry.

That is pretty rare on a 6.0. Makes me wonder???

What brand pistons did you go with?
Do you know what you were doing when they cracked?
Any idea what EBP, egts, timing, and PW is on the new tune?

Were you towing again on a race tune :slap:

EDIT: When you did your motor I think I remember you did .030 over pistons? Did you shave down the pistons to account for the larger bore and higher compression ratio?

Me and buddy took it for a drive to warm it up, stop turned around and run it through the gears. backed off started smoking blue, gear head non vgt reduced fuel tune, max EGT was 1600+ ebp was 38+ boost 30-35 psi, PW 2.2 max, icp 3.5-4V, don't know timing

I seriously doubt you cracked a piston. My max egts are around 2300, back pressure and boost are god knows how high. I cracked one last year but it was debris related.

Well it has the exact same symptoms as last time I cracked one. Bad miss on cylinder #4 and excessive blowby, enough to blow the dipstick out of the tube.
