Hi, I have 2009 f350 Spartan tuned, built transmission and a cold air intake
My truck used to say it was gettin 27mpg+ and I would normally get 600+km a tank, but lately I fill my truck and move 20km and the needle has already moved I'll be lucky to get 450km a tank driving around like a perfect angel, I've tries changing tunes, putting in Lucas fuel saver, changing all my fluids nothing bringing it up, the truck feels more sluggish now to, I've cleaned the intake dozen times, still no better results I put my air dog fuel pump on, truck feels a little more sensitive with the throttle but still terrible fuel mileage, when I hand calculated it, I got 10.2 now that's even worse then before I did a dpf delete n everything else, know would anyone have a clue why my truck is doing this? I don't wanna take it to the dealer and a 1500$ bill for something stupid,
Any suggestions or ideas would be great! Thanks

First off welcome to PSA , couple things to consider here .
Have you ever actually compared your mpg's that your Spartan says your getting to what it's actually getting before you noticed this recent change ? I've never heard of a tuned 6.4 actually getting 27mpg . Not saying its not possible but not likely either .
Other thing is, the winter mix fuel will cause your mpg's to drop a bit .

EDIT: treed again ^^^ lol

Welcome to the world of winter fuel. Everything will return to normal in late april.

You never got 27mpg btw. Based on the km/tank you were getting 15.5mpg

I never owned a 6.4 but I would say 15.5 is not bad in the winter, that's what my buddy tells me anyway..

my 7.3 got worse mileage everytime this year when the winter fuel comes around, around a 2mpg drop. I simply compensated with a grey bottle of power service

Been doing this since end of spring, and sorry I didn't finish explaining my truck used to say I would be gettin 27ish that area now it's saying around 18mpg I know not to trust it, I just think it's funny that my truck actually starts to get bad fuel mileage and that lie o meter is even saying that, I know it's not winter fuel causing this, I haven't been driving it in the winter yet cause of the bad mileage and few other problems I couldn't imagine how bad this truck would be on fuel with the winter fuel and this problem,

I get 600km to a tank here in AB, but that's pretty much no fun pedal so no point to that, I like 500km/tank style of driving, spit a little bit of smoke at the asians every so often and all is well. This is with PowerService grey used every tank and I do my best to hit Shell V-Power diesel for their few more points too.

A boost leak or exhaust leak pre turbo could be causing poor mileage and loss of power, something else to look into.

if you knew what alberta was like, you would understand. firstly, there is no emissions there. you can buy deleted trucks pretty much brand new off the lot. also, the ratio of trucks to cars is about 7:3 and most trucks are modded. beautiful country to boot...

6.4 and good mileage=hilarious

Until someone can find a way to lower cruising boost the mileage is going to be horrible. Stock, tuned, deleted and tuned they aren't fuel.mileage competitors.

15 is the most id.believe out of someone mouth. Driving three different trucks with dpf's and two with piss injection I know 10mpg is pretty normal. I hear 12 and 13 as a deleted mpg average.from people I know that I trust their math.

Since 07 when they really killed the good fuel.supply my 7.3 has gotten worse and worse mileage. I used to see 18 on both of mine routinely, empty. Now 14ish or a lil higher. Winter=terrible. 10mpg. But I idle it and leave it running for heat etc.

No wonder my truck seems to suck fuel mileage wise as soon as it started to get cool. My truck is southern all the way. It loves hot weather.

ive gotten 18 all stock other than h&s tow tune and a five inch exhaust (deleted obviously) tank was mostly highway though, cruise normally set at 72. hand calculated
