Hey guys since I've pulled my cab I have had a slight creak in the left rear corner of the cab. It happens when i take off, hit the brakes, pull in and out of my driveway, etc. I hadn't had time or desire to mess with it until today. I pulled the 6 rear cab bolts (left the front 2 because I didn't want to screw with them if they froze up) and just idled the truck forward and back and hit the brakes a couple times to try and set the cab more naturally. Then, I reinstalled the cab bolts.

All was well for about 10 miles and son of a bitch the creak is back lol.

My question is, has anyone run into this before? How did you fix it? Any idea why it started creaking? Did I over torque the cab bolt?

Lift the cab slightly and put grease between the body mount and the floor to eliminate that.

What are you torquing the cab mount bolt to?

Awesome thank you. I believe I torqued them to somewhere around tightftlbs with an impact lol

I usually use the German torque spec, gudntight. After my truck got studded it had the same creak you're talking about, removed the cab bolts and greased the bushings like mentioned above. Hasn't made a noise since!

I believe the torque is 85 foot pounds.

TSB 13-6-7 has a similar concern, but from the front mounts. The torque spec is listed in there as well.
