The more I’m learning about this exhaust back pressure

The more I feel I would be completely happy without it.

What’s the downside?

Maybe wait a few more minutes before I get heat?

The ebps doesn't control the ebpv. Lol.. ambient temps and throttle input control the valve

This article I just read seems to disagree with you.

So how do I go about disabling this garbage?

It has already been said. And its not garbage. Lol.. unplug the ebpv connector. Clean the ebps tube and replace sensor so that it wont effect mileage... i still have both on my dually. And they are both functioning. And its at 450hp to the ground.

Then dont listen to me.. if that was the case and your ebps tube is plugged then your ebpv would never function. But it does still close as you said it bothers you to hear it down the road.

But honestly I’m still kind of Confused as to what the exhaust pressure sensor and tube actually do.

And More importantly how do they affect fuel mileage

The EBP sensor tells the computer what back pressure the turbo is seeing. It needs to be within a certain range of pressure. Not seeing it when it’s under load will more than likely change the fuel timing

Ok thanks guys.

Yeah I WILL be removing the tube for inspection and replacing the sensor ...

Also gonna unplug the valve and see how I like that too.

The valve is easy... 2 seconds

I got the sensor and tube out this morn.
Tube looks good, no holes/ no blockage
Just light black dust blew out of it...

I filled it up with some carb cleaner and going to let it sit for a while and then blow it out again...

Then reinstall it.

Do you think I should replace the sensor... just for good measure?

Ordered a rebuild kit for the injection pressure regulator valve also.

Why not ...

Looks simple enough
