Ive been trying to find the threads on this, but I dont think they are here on PSA... it is better to use the 05-07 or can you use the 08-09?

it seems the 05-07 should be a direct bolt in, but word has it that the 08 will go right in also. The wheel end components (brakes, etc) on the 08 would seem much improved. Just looking for more feedback on whos done it..

I've heard the holes for the coil buckets are already on the leaf sprung front end trucks, Is this true? And does any fab work need to be done? I'd like to put an 05 front on my 7.3

Not all the holes are there and you will have to drill some of them. The only fab that I do is with the pitman arm. The taper has to be enlarged. I found it easier to buy the new coil buckets and the radius arm buckets than having to cut the rivets out of the old ones but that's just me.

Ok dumb question, whats the advantage to converting over to a coil front end?

My dodge drives like crap compared to my superduty (I know apples to oranges) and the dodge is a coil solid axle and my superduty is leaf springs.

Just curious.

so would it be beneficial to buy new coil buckets, radius arm buckets, and a pitman arm from a coil sprung truck? Ive removed coil buckets from an 2013 truck and never want to do it again.

Those rivets are a PITA to get out. Heat them up and then you can work on them with an air chisel. I haven't been able to find a direct swap pitman arm so I just mod the old one to fit by having the taper slightly enlarged.
