if you remove the fan does the PCM have a cow since the reported fan speed shows an open circuit ?
and who would want to use a 7.3 clutch ? it's not like the viscous electric units are problematic IMHO just expensive if they do chit the bed

Mines an '03...and has NEVER thrown the engine light...not even when the engine seized up....or the time it blew an injector tip off, and I drove it another 3 hours home on the highway at 75mph.

It's in the codes when you pull them, but it don't do or hurt anything.

I'm not sure honestly, part of the reason why I posted it. They had showed it to me when I was out there and I was a little baffled.

The '03s seem impossible to throw an engine light. (It does come on when you cycle the key, so I know the bulb is ok, haha)

Newer trucks might be a lot more finicky.

Just unplug yours and see if it throws a hissy fit.

Good 'ol '03s. Lol

Much rather have the gas motor than a 6.0. At least till the 7.3 goes in. Although I know a type II such as yourself will not be able to understand.

Sorry for derail op

Sorry for derail op ( He's not sorry it's what He does when He can't keep to the 7.3 section

and you hang out in the 6.0 section why ?
so you can derail and add stupid comments!! see I understand just fine LOL

as far as the 7.3 BS I guarantee you my 6.0 has had less issues than yours

and it has never once left me on the side of the road in it's whole 100,000 mile life doing so with More power than a 7.3

while I have no hate towards the 7.3 it's stupid ass comments like yours that have people associating the motor to a POS

and you hang out in the 6.0 section why ? I usually don't hang out in the 6.0 section but this electric fan setup and trans cooler relocation could be applied to a 7.3 just as he is applying it to his 6.0. Hence why I have been following the thread.

you can derail and add stupid comments!! see I understand just fine LOL Was not trying to derail anything, just stating that I can not see one reason why someone would switch out the 7.3 clutch fan for a 6.0 electric fan and have to wire in a control for it. Makes no sense at all when the stock 7.3 fan works great.

Not going to argue this with you as everyone has there own opinions and that will never change.

Glad to hear that you have not had any issues with your truck in its whole 100k miles. Mine is not in pieces because I was having issues in the first 100k miles, or even the firs 200k miles. When mine rolled over 400k miles, I decided to completely go through the truck and fix/update everything instead of buying a new truck. Old one has to much sentimental value to let it go.

Got a picture of the transmission cooler under the truck.

Don't get dizzy.

You can't see any of it when you look across the bottom of the rear.

That is extremely cool. Where do you think of this stuff? ;)

Added the additional external filter.

Relays for the four fans on the rad, and for the transmission cooler.
