Wow, I wish had the time/capabilities to do this! Props!

Thanks. I wish i had more time too. 2 hrs a night during the week is not enough. I've thought about getting another bed several times, but i'd just have to make the same repairs now, or further down the road. Plus there's none for sale that are clean in my area. My goal is to prime the bed on sunday.

I didn't get done as much as I hoped to, ran out of welding gas, air board wasn't working right, and the water separator was causing issues. So with the compressor issues fixed, we are good to go.

Studded up, ready to pull the corner back out.

OOps? Studs ripped out.

Welded back up.

Drivers side glazed and sanded with 220, waiting for the other side to get done for primer.

How far are you from Lancaster/Philadelphia? I am moving to that area in a few weeks. Would you mind showing me how you do some of this once I get settled in?

Probably about an hour away. I hope to have everything in primer in few weeks. The bed was easily the worst part of my truck. I have the cab corners to do, and a few dents to pull out of the doors. Plate the bottoms of my fenders and fix a few dents. Fix the rot on the rad support as well. I'm also going to mess with my hood and grille a little bit.

I'd be happy to help and give some pointers. What are you wanting to do? I highly recommend not trying to do what I did with the bed. It was a ton of work and not easy by any means. I stood for days pulling dents with stud gun. I only did it to see if we could.

I've got some rot on the lower rear cab corners, and the wheel wells on the bed are worse than yours were. And a few pretty good sized dents on the RH side of the truck.
I've never been able to get panels welded smooth (probably just too impatient), and the whole coating the backside still has be confused how to do it.

I'll be doing my cab corners, so I'll have a pretty good idea of what to do. If the cab corners are rotted, pretty good chance your lower front fenders are rotted too. My upper rear wheel arch rot wasn't that bad, its the million dents i had in the bed that was the headache. There's some tips i can give you with welding in the panels. Like hiding the seam in the body line, sliding the panel behind to support the upper piece. The backside coating i will post pics of when i do it because it should be done whether your truck has rotted fenders or not. Check your radiator mounts too.

My RF fender is new thanks to an illinois idiot. LF fender will need to be replaced. It's beyond repair, even for me.

Rad support needs a lot of work too, but I think it'll be able to wait longer than the rest. I'm probably going do some modifications to it so the intercooler fits better and easier to get to the boot clamps.

Don't throw the LF fender away before you fix the bed and cab corners, you can probably use the arch to make the inner fender for the rear and use the sheet metal for the cab corner. I used left over original wheel arch to make my rear inner. Its already pre bent, you just have to fold the edge over to make the lip.

Didn't have much time this week. Heres the wheel wells beat back out. They will get coated with bedliner for rust prevention and the plastic bedliner is going back in, never to be seen again.

Had some time last night to play around with the fender.

Needs a little more grinding.

Very cool, I've got an old 96 white f250 about exactly like this, but with a 460. The bed is rotting out pretty bad, someday I would love to restore it with a cummins in it. I didn't read through all the pages, but are you still planning the gray? That's about the color I wanted to do, haha.

Drivers side fender is blocked, even tho the pictures show the guide coat still on. The passenger side bed is ready to be blocked. I started messing around with the hood. I have the hood cut apart and raised 3". I didn't take any pictures of it all tacked back together.

I had to weld, and rework the body line where the light bezel sit, what a pita.
IMG_20111015_152950.jpg

Welded up the badge holes and the patch panel on the bottom came out good.
IMG_20111015_152944.jpg

Glazed up, die coat on, waiting for 220.

I have the sides welded in, I will get pictures later. I have a nice sunburn on my face from all the tack welding.

This is the first go around, I have since cut it out and layed it on an angle.

Where did you learn all this? You're not just fixing, you're modifying! And in my experience with other stuff, it takes a lot more skill to modify than just fix stuff.
