Well I was looking through some old photos today and came across some I never shared with PSA..last year I did a rebuild on my 5R110 because I was short the $2k on labor to get it done. So I bought a ATSG service manual for it and went to work. Took about a week since I had work, and class, and I had to manage time to do it. I always love challenges! I ended up having spaztic lockup trying to get into OD..I came running to Power Stroke Magic...it was embarrassing, but you live and learn.

turns out I left a retaining ring out of the pump which explained lockup issues, and installed the direct wave (bellville as the manual says) piston upside down and I roasted the direct clutches.. paying off that repair bill sucked.

but for most of you on PSA with REAL experience could definitely get it done with a clutch spring compressor and an output shaft nut tool. enjoy!

Ya, these 5R110s don't want some kid rebuilding them lol. I thought I was doing well with checking my clearances on EVERYTHING.. I went with the sun coast iron pac 3, and a triple disk converter from a company in Houston called Circle D..So far so good after it was torn into again

good to know Ill be replacing mine soon again, FYI DO NOT BUY the Suncoast kit and rebuild it, its a piece of crap kit.

Ill be going twisted once mine takes a dump...I know it will because of my luck :clapping:

dammit! I mean there were more clutches, but it met the clearances on the ATSG since they had a smaller piston, and thinner steels

IDK, my suncoast rebuild kit has been holding strong for a while.

Ive had mine for 6 months and did precision industries triple-disc and all seems well. If mine goes I'm thinking NADP or Elite... Haven't quite decided yet?

Why is it I never hear much about BTS for the 5R110, I know he rebuilds them, I've talked to them a couple of times, and plan on going there when it's time for mine.
