Ok guys well I think I have found my problem (hopefully some experts will chime in and either confirm or deny). I am thinking that the plug going to my EBP sensor is busted and needs to be replaced. I took a photo of it (kind of fuzzy sorry) and what a new one is supposed to look like. I found it when I went to replace my EBP sensor (I knew it had to be related to something that controlled the turbo vanes).

Not sure if you can see it or not but on my plug the plastic around the connector is broken and the purple insulating plastic is missing as well. IDK how I missed this but I plan to order the replacement connector and splice/solder it into my existing wiring harness.

Well I tried this fix and it wasnt the problem. Stroker hooked me up with an EGR valve out of a 05 6.0 and it did the trick. The truck runs great now. Thanks Stroker so much for the valve.

What is your boost pressure while cruising down the hwy at 70mph?? Does it change if you drive for more than 20 miles without stopping??

Normal boost pressure is around 9-10 crusing, 20+ when i'm accelerating.. And 25-27ish if i really get into it. I'm not highly modded, but she runs like a top for me man.

If you still have your old EGR valve, try plugging it back in and just laying it on top of the motor and see if your cruising boost pressure drops, remains the same, or goes up?? Also dont change anything with your SCT tuning. Dont worry you wont hurt anything just give it a try and see what happens.

Don't have the egr valve anymore.. However i'm sure i could pick one up cheap just for ****s and giggles. You think it will make a significant difference? I knew i should have kept that stuff lol.

I think he means which revision. Like VXBC6N4 etc. etc. With your SCT, you had to send your strategy to your tuner.

There very well could be an 05'-07' strategy out there that won't fubar the cooling fan and VGT duty cycle without the EGR valve plugged in. If there is that would be handy info to know.

I never had any problems with my fan but had the cel without the valve in. Eric was finally able to disable the light through the tunes and I picked up some power proved from track times.

The fan duty cycle issue doesn't usually seem to come into play (ie get noticed)unless you start pulling some weight and working the cooling system. But like you exprerienced, the 05'-07' trucks typically throw a CEL without the EGR valve plugged in.

Windrunner, correct me if I'm wrong, but this was the exact issue you were having, right? Loss of power/boost without the EGR valve plugged in?

redracer69, do a search on the EGR to cooling fan duty cycle relationship. The two are tied together in the same circuit, along with the VGT. The tuners can't tune around the valve being unplugged. I believe both Eric from Innovative and Matt at Gearhead talked about this issue awhile back. Interesting stuff.

CCRICE: Yes I was referring to the stock strategy. You also did the same thing I did when I put on my EGR delete kit. If you could score an EGR valve for cheap, I would recommend doing it just to see.

WETNSLOPPY: You are correct.

REDRACER: What is your cruising boost levels?? Do you have your old EGR valve?? If so plug it in and see if it makes a difference. If you have to put the truck on stock and see. Do some runs without the valve and some runs with the valve in and see if there is any difference.

Boost cruising is like 2-3 psi lol(non Vgt turbo). I do have the vale but I dont think it will make a difference now that the cel is off. I'll check it out and see though.

Got ya. Yea since you have a non-VGT, having the EGR valve plugged in wont really do anything for the VGT tables since that doesnt apply anymore.
