Hey fellas I know this is an odd request but if someone out there can help me out it could save me a lot of time and money. Ide like someone that's running a stack behind there cab that also has a hand held inferred temp gun to go for a ride and get your stack good and hot, on the highway maybe and snap a couple temp readings through your back window at about bed rail height. Reason is, I want to run an 8" center stack behind my cab BUT I want to run the stack through my leather tonneau cover. My idea is to slit cut the cover so it fits tightly around the stack then put a hose clamp underneath so the leather is water tight against the stack leaving a clean look. I just need to know if it will get hot enough to melt the leather and I hate to find out the hard way. If it appears like it will get to hot, My idea is to run a 4" stack up the center of the 8" and run it up a couple inches higher then the leather then let it open up to the 8", thus keeping the hot exhaust from touching the outer stack below the leather.
FLAME AWAY but if someone can help ide surly appreciate it!!
Thanks!
