Try putting some of this in it. I would be very curious to see what it does.

near as i can tell, the thicker the oil the better for my truck.. the Schaeffers moly ep i added completely got rid of the tick and brought my mileage back up. on a 300 mile round trip as we speak and with the cruise set at 80 it hasn't dropped below 18.8mpg.... that is the only thing i did was drained a quart of oil and put in 2 pints of the moly ep...

From the research ive been doing archoil is far better than rev-x. Rev-x undoubtedly works for stiction issues but that's about it and archoil is way cheaper.

I hope you realize that makes absolutely no sense at all... thicker oil and better mpg's. I think your brain is stuck in your 7.3L still!!! Lol...

I tried the Archoil in my truck for the tick. I thought I had it licked but it didn't help. Started ticking again. Oh well.

Just got the factory fill changed out with 8600+ on the motor. I'll see how the replacement oil holds back the "tick".

I'm gonna guess one night you were driving that ol 7.3L with leaf spring suspension on all 4 corners and bumped your head on the roof!! Lol....

Here is the interesting part regarding oil and ticking. Like clockwork mine has been a ticker since day 1 dealership lot. Not too concerned. My 6.7l cummins had a faint tick both my LBZ's had a tick worse than this one. Now when my oil gets around 4000 miles on it..... tick is always GONE. until I put new oil in. I run royal purple because I've had a large supply of it for so long in the 15w40. I would rather run a 5w30 if I could find it anywhere.

I run valvoline Extreme Blue, full synthetic. 5w40, and no tick... Anything else, tick for the first 500-700 miles.

I've also got 151,860 miles on a 19 month old 350 Duallie, with over 110,000 with a 52 foot enclosed GN attached, and have grossed over 36,000 on more than a few occasions... I get about 7-8 k on an oil change...

2013 lariat cclb DRW purchased may 2013...

Yup.... About 20,000 miles ago, I thought I cracked the plastic pipe that runs to the IC. Big whoosh of air when on the skinny pedal...

Broken exhaust up pipe flange stud....

One major failure in 151,000 miles.... Good job, Ford!!!

Oh yeah.... That 10,000 pound drive axle rating, is on the low side..., 13,800 on the drive axles... For a short trip.... Phoenix, AZ to Fayetteville, NC... No issues....
