I was looking at FICM's also. I did think about upgrading to a 58v one. PHP has the 58v FICM for $700 does that come with a tune? When you say Atlas 40 does that mean 40hp tune? Correct me if I am wrong but you will tune the truck with the x4 but the FICM- can also be tuned for more power? Sorry for all the questions I have been racing cars my whole life and this diesel stuff is a whole new game for me. Some on the site say +100hp FICM tune. So is that 100+hp on top of all your other mods and tune?

If you want to tow it's not recommended go with a high ficm tune. You can get a ficm tuner for like $400. I know what you mean I've been racing and building race cars my whole life, and didn't know squat about diesels until I found this site.

Exzactly lol. What about just a 40hp FICM-? Do you guys run any kind of oil additive or fuel additive like Archoil or Rev X? If I go with the Fass system could you post which return system to go with? Thanks buddy.

Use the driven diesel (strictly) regulated return. The fuel bowl derete is very nice, just make sure you add yhe option of the air dor/fass install kit with it. They did most of the homework, and it comes with enough line to attatch to the pump. I only say most of the homework, as my setup did not come with a fitting that would thread into my air dog pump head, so i just attatched it to the quick connect coming off the air dog supply where it would normally tie into yhe factory line.

Ok thank you. What Hpop do you guys recommend? I've also heard some say to replace the water pump while I'm in there? BPD has a nice billet one.

Do the BPD water pump if you have the money for it. Do you're oil cooler (can't go wrong with Ford oem)
Hpop I would say the t-500 should do just fine. I'm running on a stock Hpop right now, but I will say if you plan to do all this at one time get ready to spend a good chunk of change, and remember that if you are having someone do the work for you don't go cheap it'll bite you in this the ass, or at least it did me.

Ok good deal. Yes I know it's not gonna be cheap. I will do the upgraded OEM oil cooler. What coolant do you use? I've been guys say it's a big deal on what kind they use. I plan on doing Archoil with Rosella T6 when I change the oil. Do you run any fuel additive?

I use a dieselsite coolant filter, they were the original design. I used a river city diesel egr ****** as well, but they all serve similar functions. If you have the cab off you may want to think about new up-pipes, seems like once guys dig in and start swapping turbos and doing the EGR deleet that the factory flex sections start cracking. MBRP makes a nice relatively inexpensive setup.

If you want your factory injectors gone over, send them to Rykan at Holders Diesel. I think it's around $300 to have them checked over and flow tested. He can also upgrade yours at that time too for more money if you wish.

Is that how Diesel Injectors work you send them off and they just hog them out to be whatever you want? Sorry if that's a dumb question.

Yes sir holders will go through them, and hone them to what cc you want then add whatever nozzles you ask for. Last time I talked to Rykan their turnaround time wasn't bad at all..

They also have an option to bad ford remans for a little more money, but iirc they come with a better warranty, and you know that they injectors are pretty much new without any miles on em.

Variable geometry turbocharger. The turbochargers on the 03-07 6.0 use a set of vanes in the exhaust side of the turbocharger to change the effective aspect ratio, meaning that they provide optimum boost at lower rpm and have less lag than a comparable fixed geometry turbocharger. The 2015- newer 6.7 also uses a VGT turbocharger.
